Contest Prompt: If Dr. King was alive today, what would his “I have Dream Speech” be like? Place yourself in Dr.King’s
position and write your “I Have a Dream Speech.” What will be your dream for the nation and vision for your descendants?

1. You must be 6 - 11 years of age or in grades 1 - 5.
2. Poster must provide an answer(s) to the contest
prompt above:
3. Poster must be child’s work.
4. Any medium may be used (crayons, markers, pen and
ink, paints, watercolors, pencils etc.).
5. Poster should be on a poster board.
6. Your name MUST be written on the back of the
poster with Entry Form attached to it otherwise your poster will be disqualified.

9. Winners will be selected from two categories
(ages 6 & 7 and ages 8 – 11).
1. You must be 11 - 18 years of age or in grades 6 - 12.
2. Essay must be original and reflect the contest
prompt above:
3. Essay should consist of at least 1 page – double-spaced
(approximately 250 words).
4. Essay must be typed.
5. Essay should be submitted on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.
6. The cover sheet must contain student’s name, school,
home phone number, parent or guardian’s’ name, and
address. No other information should be included in the
body of the essay. Do Not put your name on your essay.
7. Essay will be judged on:
