Dear PEPP Course Coordinator, We hope that you are enjoying the PEPP Third Edition materials and finding the flexibility it offers to be of great value to both you and your students. New Information! IMPORTANT CHANGE! Effective December 31, 2013, PEPP Second Edition courses will no longer be eligible to receive continuing education credit through the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS). In order to receive CECBEMS credit, a PEPP course utilizing the Third Edition materials must be taught. Participants who successfully complete the PEPP Third Edition Course are eligible to receive the following credit through CECBEMS: BLS Hybrid Course—8.5 hours BLS Onsite Course—8 hours ALS Hybrid Course—12.5 hours ALS Onsite Course—14 hours To ensure that prospective and current PEPP students are well-prepared before arriving at a PEPP Third Edition course, all students must self-study the textbook and complete the pretest examination (onsite course), or online modules (hybrid course), prior to working with a PEPP Course Coordinator during the onsite portion of a PEPP course. To register, students will redeem an online access code located within their textbook. You can continue to offer a PEPP Second Edition course through 2014; however, participants will not receive CECBEMS credit. We encourage you to visit and become a friend of the PEPP Facebook page (www.facebook.com/AAP.PEPP ) where you will find up-to-date information and the opportunity to network with other Course Coordinators. We appreciate your patience during this transition. We hope that you enjoy the new edition and that it helps facilitate a more impactful learning experience for your students. Please feel free to email us at pepp@aap.org with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the new edition. American Academy of Pediatrics Life Support Staff
