Key Performance Areas/ Core Functions: Must be a strategic and innovative thinker, with excellent conceptualization and analytical skills. Must have experience in academic management Excellent communication skills must be able to interact with others on all levels, including supervisors, colleges and students. Advanced computer skills and proficiency. Time management skills. Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter. Excellent understanding of research and the research process. Must be able to conceptualize variable research projects and act as a supervisor to postgraduates students. Knowledge of research findings systems is a recommendation. Knowledge of the department of journalism and the course curriculum they offer. Liaison with and networks within the journalism and media industry. Must have the ability to foster media industry projects for the advancement of students. 1. Minimum Requirements: 2. Academic qualifications: A doctorate in Journalism or media related fields. 3. Minimum Experience: At least 8 years teaching, research or industrial experience in the Journalism and media fields. Academic management experience will be a recommendation.
