Scholarships for the Post Graduate programme in Educational Technology at the University of Cape Town Information Sheet 2015 Eligibility of Scholarships We are privileged to be able to offer a variety of types of scholarships from the Carnegie Corporation and the Andrew Mellon Foundation for the Post Graduate programme in Education Technology at the University of Cape Town. These scholarships are available only for the post graduate courses run jointly by the School of Education and the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT) (See http://www.cet.uct.ac.za/masters). Depending on your educational background, context and the course you would like to follow, you may be eligible for either one of these scholarships. In 2014 we are able to offer one PhD Fellowship for the period 2014-2016. If you do not complete the course successfully, you will be required to pay back the full value of the bursary for as long as you received it. Conditions of Fellowship Subject to successful completion of PhD proposal and its acceptance by the Doctoral Degrees Board Subject to annual reports providing proof of satisfactory progress from Supervisor The fellowship holder may not hold full-time salaried employment during the tenure of the scholarship The successful candidate will be required to work within the Centre for Educational Technology and contribute to teaching and supervision in the postgraduate program The successful candidate will be expected to pursue a mutually agreed upon research project with their appointed Supervisor D:\687293790.doc Lasted edited 4 July 2014 by CHW & CB Application process Stage 1: Provide the following to the Centre for Educational Technology by 15 September 2013 1) Completed Postgraduate Expression of Interest Form http://tinyurl.com/uctedutech2 2) Certified copies of your academic records 3) An up-to-date curriculum vitae (including details of publications if applicable) Stage 2: Provide the following to the Centre for Educational Technology by 31 October 2013 Once we have evaluated your Expression of Interest, you will be advised on the type of Scholarship/Fellowship for which you may eligible . You will then be required to provide a 1) A completed UCT application form 2) A completed application form for a Scholarship / Fellowship in the Post Graduate programme in Educational Technology 3) A certified copy of your Identity Document or Passport 4) Referees reports from people who can comment on your academic ability 5) A letter of support from your institution for your studies (PGDip ONLY) Stage 3: If you are shortlisted, you will also be required to submit either a portfolio of work or a short preadmission essay on a specific topic referring to selected readings and take part in a subsequent telephonic interview.
