KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION MEETING
All parents and guardians of incoming kindergarten students are invited to attend a district wide Kindergarten Orientation on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 6:30 –
7:30 PM in the LITTLE SCHOOL cafeteria. The orientation will provide parents with an overview of the kindergarten experience, including information about the
Full Day Kindergarten Program. With this information you will be able to make the best decision for your incoming kindergarten student.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 2014
Kindergarten Registration will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 for all children who will be five years old on or before August 31 st .

During registration, parents will be asked to complete appropriate registration, residency and emergency forms. Parents must provide a copy of their child’s birth

certificate, record of immunization, 5 year old (or most recent) physical exam, lead and vision screening test results, and risk assessment for tuberculosis. In addition, parents must bring a recent mortgage or rental payment, recent bill dated within the past 60 days showing North Reading address and name, and a valid driver’s license, photo ID, or passport.
The Hood School will conduct all screenings at a later date .
Parents who are interested in enrolling their child into the Full Day Kindergarten
Program will be required to provide a deposit of $250. This registration is critical in the district’s determination of the number of Full Day classrooms that will be offered during 2014 - 2015.
If you prefer to register your child in half day kindergarten, there is no charge.
To help with planning, it is critical that we receive an accurate estimate of our kindergarten enrollment for next year. If you know of anyone who should have received this letter, but did not, please let him/her know about the registration. If you will not be sending your child to school in the fall, please notify your appropriate school office.
NEW FIRST GRADE REGISTRATION
On the same day we will also be registering students who did not attend our kindergarten this year and who will be attending grade 1 at the Hood School in
September 2014. You will need to bring the same appropriate registration, residency and emergency forms required for new kindergartners (listed above) and complete the necessary paperwork. Since screenings will take place in the fall, it will not be necessary to bring your child(ren).
