Liz has over 40 years' practical industry experience in the United Kingdom and South Africa in
the packaging, food, beverage, agriculture, chemical, pharmaceutical and plastics sectors
which included working with various government departments at local, regional and national
level on regulatory, health and environmental matters. She worked for 6 years in London
moving to South Africa and joining the chemical industry. She currently operates from her own
office on the farm with 1 full time admin assistant.

Sarah held the position of Director Pollution Control, Manager: Environmental Impact
Management, and Senior Manager: Environmental Services, South Region, in the KZN Dept.
Agriculture, Environmental Affairs and Rural Development with the KZN DEA and has 13 years
experience as Environmental Regulator and consultant. Extensive experience in the Environmental
Impact Assessment regulations including: reviewing and evaluating Basic Assessment and
Environmental Impact Assessment reports & preparing records of decision in the form of
Environmental Authorisations. Implementation of the Waste Management Regulations and
preparation of Waste Management Licences.

Field of Specialisation in Waste Management, Cemetery Planning, IWM Planning,
Environmental Planning & Research. Assessment & Evaluation of Environmental Impacts Mitigation, Optimisation & Monitoring. Aubrey is also Vice Chairman and an active KZN branch
committee member for the Institute of Waste Management for Southern Africa (IWMSA), a
non profit voluntary organisation representing professionals in the field of waste management
in Southern Africa.
Philip Collyer – Expert in Chemicals Related Management Systems, OCCH, Risk
Assessments & Training
Studied Chemical Engineering in Natal Technikon with the Department of Labour. In Service
Training with SAPREF, AECI Chemicals and CG Smith Chemicals. Nine & half years with
Department of Labour latterly as a Principal Inspector. He handled many of the chemical related
injuries, illness and fatalities with the DoL, left DoL to Consult and over the past 11 years
facilitated vendor upliftment programs in health and safety for the communications industry,
implemented programs for the Railway Safety Regulator, Health, Safety and Environmental
Management Programs for the shipping and Pharmaceutical industries, implemented Audits
and Improvement Plans, managed and done hygiene surveys for various companies in KZN.

Chemical Engineer with 32 years experience in the Chemical Industry & Masters Degree in
Business Administration from Henley University. Operational experience includes – Power
generation, water & effluent treatment, chloralkali, ethanol production, phthalates, phthalic &
maleic anhydride, unsaturated polyester resin, biodiesel.
Experience in Management Systems, Risk Assessment, Project & Management, Process
Optimisation, Cleaner production & quantification/minimisation of waste streams. Environmental
remediation & carbon disclosure. Monitoring & Training, Strategic business reviews. Current focus
areas consulting and development of technology as Ex Natura Technologies
Dr Ilse Asquith – Expert in Occupational Health & Safety Training, Risk Assessment &
GHS Compliant SDS
After nine years as a part time lecturer at NMMU teaching subjects such as Chemical Process
Industries, General Chemistry and Health, Safety and Environmental Management as a
Chemical Hygiene Officer/Technician. Ilse is one of a handful of South Africans who
specializes in the Globally Harmonised System of Chemical Classification and Labelling (GHS).
She can assist companies in transforming to the GHS requirements with regards to the
labelling of their products and safety data sheets. Riskchem also provides GHS Training
courses to assist Trainees with skills to implement this system in their workplace. This provides
participants with an understanding of the legal requirements, terminology used & how to
interpret an SDS that is in line with both GHS requirements as well as various SANS
codes. Riskchem offers a number of services including authoring SDS’s, chemical risk
assessments, chemical safety audits, legal compliance & chemical process investigations.
