Season Well Underway
Even though it is barely summer, our club has already been open
for several months. Member activities have been well attended
and lessons have been popular with adults and children.

Coming Event - Optimist Junior Tennis Day
The Optimist Club has been a great supporter of junior tennis for
many years and this year is no exception. On Saturday June 23
our club will host the annual Optimist Junior Tennis Day.
Children of all ages are encouraged to participate from 10:00 AM
to noon. There will be fun and games followed by a pizza lunch
and drinks. This event is open to all area children, members or
non-members.
Do you know a child who would like to try tennis? Bring them
out!
The Optimist Club also helped purchase the equipment used for
the Saturday morning progressive tennis program. We thank
the Optimist Club for their continuing contribution to tennis in
Stratford!
Coming Event - Canada Day Round Robin
On Monday July 2 there will be the regular morning tennis round
robin followed by a picnic lunch in the park at noon. Please sign
up at the club if you plan to attend Canada Day Round Robin.
Coming Event - Tennis Camps for Children
A series of weekly tennis camps will begin on July 2 and
continue through mid-August. Camps will run Monday to Friday
9:00 AM to 12:00 noon with a pizza party on each Friday. Camps
are for children ages 4-14 and are designed to be both fun and
instructional. They are a great way to introduce children to
tennis and help them make friends.

Coming Event - Super Set Singles and Doubles Tournaments
Our annual Super Set tournaments are set for Saturday July 14
(singles) and Sunday July 15 (doubles). These events are
always very popular as a way to play with lots of different people
in a competitive yet social atmosphere. Register at the
clubhouse.
Coming Event - Woods and Whites Retro Tennis Day
On Saturday July 21, the Stratford Tennis Club will host a
"woods and whites" retro day based upon the idea from club
member Chris Parson. Everyone is encouraged to bring out their
old racquets and white clothes and have some fun with friends.
Or if you wish, dress as your favourite player! More details will
be posted on the website soon.
Christopher Plummer - Supporting our Tennis Club!
We thank everyone who has been supporting our "Raise the
Roof" fundraising campaign. We are getting closer to our goal
of repairing the roof!
Christopher Plummer has graciously donated two A+ seats for
his sold-out production "A Word or Two" including a meet and
greet backstage! This priceless experience is for choice of date
between July 25 and August 26 (excludes August 2). A silent
auction has begun that will continue until July 21 at 4:00 PM.

Recap of Ongoing Member Activities:
Morning Group - The morning round robin group plays on
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Come out and join
this fun and recreational group of players.
Ladies Night - Monday nights starting at 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM.
Sign up sheets are on the counter in the clubhouse. Sign up
weekly before Monday at noon. All levels of play are welcome.
Men's Night - Thursday nights at 8:00 PM. Same format as the
ladies.
Monthly Singles Ladders - Men's, ladies, and junior ladders will
run throughout the season. This month's ladders have just been
posted.
Stratford Tennis League - Every Tuesday night - updates are
being sent regularly to participants.
