CSA Officer Descriptions: President—This individual is the head contact and representative for CSA. Must handle recognition process with Texas A&M and sign all official documentation related to CSA. This person is the main individual link between the University and St. Mary’s staff and student ministries. Duties at St. Mary’s include attending monthly pastoral council meetings. The president is also responsible for planning meeting agendas, delegating tasks to the officer team, and maintaining contact and cooperation among the officers, the campus advisor, and the St. Mary’s advisor. Vice-President—This position organizes the communication aspects of CSA. This includes maintaining the CSA listserv, sending weekly announcements to CSA members through the listserv, and updating the CSA webpage at aggiecatholic.org This person in also in charge of hospitality: contacting new CSA members and others interested in CSA. The vice president would also assume responsibilities of the president if he/she is unavailable. Treasurer—This position requires working extensively with the Student Organization Finance Office (SOFC) to handle anything related to CSA’s finances. This person is required to always have a working knowledge of CSA’s account, in addition to handling all deposits, and expenses that occur throughout the year. It also requires working with the St. Mary’s accountant to settle accounts with St. Mary’s. The treasurer must also find and coordinate fundraisers to raise money for CSA. Liaisons Coordinator—The responsibility of this individual is to keep contact with all of the many ministries at St. Mary’s. Each ministry is asked to send a liaison to join CSA meetings on a regular basis, this officer would be responsible for emailing the liaisons for reminders, updates, etc. This person would be in charge of communicating with each ministry either through the group’s liaison or directly to members of leadership. This person would also keep notes of CSA meetings and contact officers or ministries about commitments and/or responsibilities as related to upcoming functions and events. Public Relations Coordinator—The main responsibility of this individual is to regulate and schedule advertisements at Texas A&M University. St. Mary’s ministries will contact this person to schedule advertising on-campus and he/she will provide the ministries with the proper instructions and paperwork. This person is also responsible for investigating other methods of publicizing for St. Mary’s and its various ministries and to keep up with the CSA facebook group. The PR coordinator must also create advertising materials for CSA events, such as fliers and mass/bulletin announcements. Social and Service Events Coordinators—Both of these positions are in charge of coordinating a calendar of CSA events for the school year. These individuals will organize event information to relay to CSA officers and St. Mary’s liaisons. As well as developing new event ideas for CSA, these individuals are also encouraged to find events sponsored by other organizations on-campus that CSA can participate in. These positions are separated by the types of events that they will coordinate. Social Events Coordinator: This individual will coordinate events that are focused upon welcoming/introducing students to St. Mary’s and CSA, bringing together ministries from St. Mary’s and increasing awareness of CSA and St. Mary’s at Texas A&M University. Sample events include; Spaghetti Dinner, Ice Cream Social, and Raft Trip. Service Events Coordinator: This individual will coordinate events that are focused upon community service and outreach towards St. Mary’s, Texas A&M University and the community of Bryan/College Station. Outreach events primarily involve CSA’s participation in on-campus events. Sample events include; Big Event, Relay for Life and Shack-A-Thon. Outreach Coordinator: The individual shall serve in this role to maintain the connection between St. Mary’s and Texas A&M University, for the reason that they both serve the general Catholic student population, to develop opportunities for CSA, to promote the Catholic faith among students both on and off campus, and to encourage the students to become active within CSA. This person is also in charge of investigating on-campus events for CSA to participate in and scheduling on-campus concession tables.
