Goal is for each student to bounce it 20 times on racquet without letting it drop 5 min Transition Go over and introduce forehand and backhand strokes. Allow ample time for students to ‘dry Students still on baselinestanding Shake hands with the tennis racquet- Make a V Students may move about one side of the tennis court to avoid running into each other Critical Cues Low to High Racquet below hip to behind swing’ and practice strokes 10 12 min Task 2 Pair students up with partners. One partner stand against fence with a tennis ball. Other partner will stand on the baseline facing their partner at the fence. The partner on the fence will toss their partner standing on the baseline the ball and the partner on the baseline will gently hit it back to partner at the fence. First pair to toss, hit, and catch the ball 10x without dropping the tennis ball wins. The partners then switch. Do the same for backhand. 2 min Transition Explain the rules for the game SHARK!! 10 Task 3 Play shark, focusing on the forehand first game and then switch to the backhand on the second game. min Students spread out around one side of courtbe walking around giving feedback and reminding students of critical cues opposite ear Feet and shoulders square to target Remind students of critical cues of hitting forehand and backhand strokes LOW TO HIGH Closure of lesson –review, preview next lesson, check for understanding to satisfy cognitive objective 8.
