Notification of Frequency Utilisation As part of continuing efforts to provide efficient management of the radiofrequency spectrum in Nigeria, the Commission is putting in place a modern Spectrum Management and Monitoring System (SMMS). As part of the SMMS implementation, detailed information is required about current and continuing utilisation of frequencies assigned to telecommunications operators, equipment operating on those frequencies and sites/locations where they are deployed, etc. The information is required for creating a database on the utilization of frequencies and associated information that will be constantly updated. The records will provide an invaluable resource for (i) facilitating resolution of interference; (ii) spectrum planning, policy; and (iii) the overall spectrum management strategy of the Commission. All telecommunications operators are accordingly required to furnish the relevant information to the Commission according to the prescribed format and also update same periodically as specified by the Commission. Notification of Deployed Microwave Links All operators of telecommunications systems or networks, public or private, that have deployed microwave links are hereby requested to: 1. Furnish the Commission relevant details of deployed Microwave (Point to Point) Links by filing relevant notification(s) duly marked “Deployed Microwave Links” in electronic format using Microsoft Excel. Provide the required information about your existing microwave links via electronic mail (email) not later than 10th December, 2004 at the following address: radfrequency@ncc.gov.ng 3. File subsequent quarterly updates of your deployed microwave links on the 1st of January, April, July and November via the email address in (2) above. NOTES: Please note that each link must have a unique “Link Name” that is distinct from every other Link Name (or Link) in your network. This name should be entered in the “Link Name” field.
