DERMATOLOGICAL AND VENEREAL DISEASES Our mission is to provide patient care, perform basic and clinical research in dermatology and to conduct training program for residents and students. Course consists of lectures and practical trainings. Practical training include laboratory and bedside teaching. Lectures take form of multimedial presentation and topic discussion Students learns main topics of general dermatology: anatomy and physiology of the skin and genitals. Etiology, epidemiology, symptoms, and treatment of the common dermatological disorders including viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitis skin infections; sebaceous glands disorders; psoriasis; allergic skin diseases; leg ulcers; lichen planus; erythematous diseases; autoimmune bullous diseases and connective tissue diseases; granulomatoid disorders, tumors of the skin students learns basics of venereology; etiology, epidemiology, symptoms, differential diagnostics and treatment of the most common sexually transmitted diseases including lues, gonorrhea, NGU, AIDS and other STI. Student is expected to keep up-to date with recent advances in dermatology based on journals available in the library and in the Internet. THEACHERS: dr hab. II. III. IV. The form and terms to complete the subject: Completion of the subject “Skin and venereal disease" is a form of evaluation without final grade. Final test, the last day of training, (selected diseases of the skin and venereal) held by an assistant in the form of written The form of the exam The final theoretical examination of the subject of skin and venereal diseases is in the written test form. Students take a final theoretical exam in the first term in winter session (for groups realizing training in the winter semester) and in the summer session (for groups realizing training in the summer semester). The term designates the Head of Department. According to the regulations, by the end of re-sit examination session, student must pass a theoretical exam and this might be noted in USOS base. Dates of the theoretical exam in the re-sit sessions are determined by the Head of Department. V. VI. The terms for make-up of absence from training for explicable reasons. Absence from training student may make up after consultation with Head of Department (or with lecturer). Deadline for medical history, reports and other forms required in the teaching unit not applicable VII. General and detailed regulations of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) required for the teaching process in the unit. On the first day of the training students are informed about regulations of OHS. Emergency exit is presented to students. This is mandatory that student must comply with OHS regulations. Students are required to use protective clothing such as aprons and footwear and disposable gloves (when performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures). Training taking place in patient’s rooms and specialized labs. Safety using and manual instruction of diagnostic equipment which is in the clinic and lab rooms is given by assistant during the training.
