The measurement of x-ray scattering cross sections from laser-generated plasma Changhuan Tang Zongqing Zhao Guohong Yang Yaomei Wang Yingling He Rongqing Yi (Research Center for Laser Fusion, China Academy of Engineering Physics, P.O.Box 919-986, Mianyang, 621900) Abstract: This paper introduces the study of x-ray scattering cross section from laser-generated plasma, which could be used as a new diagnostics technology in inertial confinement fusion field. The results measured in shengguangⅡ facility in Shanghai, are presented. The measurement of scattering cross sections as a function of angel shows a clear peak, and the position of the peak is same with the Riley’s results. The successful measurement of scattering cross section shows that the technique has potential as a probe of the laser-generated plasma.
