Scholarship -- State & National
A list of current scholarship opportunities sent to the guidance office follows (listed by due date). Further information and applications may be
obtained from Ms. Huset, school counselor, or Mrs. Hillman, guidance administrative assistant. Students are also encouraged to seek out
scholarship opportunities from other sources. Most public and private colleges offer scholarships to students planning to attend their institution.
Some of the schools send information on awards and criteria to our guidance office. Information may also be obtained directly from the individual
college.

There are a number of free scholarship search sites on the internet. Some of the better and more common ones are: www.fastweb.com,
www.scholarships.com, www.schoolsoup.com, and www.anycollege.net.
You may also want to check for scholarships at your workplace, civic organizations and clubs. Many companies and organizations offer scholarships
for their employees and for children of their employees.

Free Application for Federal student Aid (FAFSA) website: http:www.fafsa.ed.gov/
FAFSA4caster website: http://www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov/ --FAFSA4caster will help you get an early start on the financial aid process by providing
you with an early estimate of your eligibility for federal student aid. In addition, FAFSA4caster will increase your knowledge of the financial aid
process and provide information about other sources of aid.
National & State Scholarships Available
TIP (Talent Incentive Program) Grant-- The TIP grant aids low-income and disadvantaged Wisconsin students with additional college funding to
help reduce the student’s amount of loan, work-study, or unmet need. For more information and an application, visit:
www.dpi.wi.gov/weop/index.html. No deadline. “The sooner you complete the process, the greater your opportunity for securing a TIP Grand
and/or GEAR UP Scholarship. Funding is very limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis, to WI Residents only.”
Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship—Scholarship is open to all high school seniors who are U. S. citizens and are planning careers of
service to the United States in local, state, or federal government. All awards are for one year. More information is available on their website:
www.gwcf.org. Applications are to be postmarked by January 15, 2016.
WATDA (Wisconsin Automobile & Truck Dealers Association) Scholarship—Scholarships will be available for graduating high school seniors,
adult students and continuing technical college students who are pursuing a career in the auto and truck industry. Tuition awards vary and can be up
to full tuition. Average award is $750 per semester for up to 4 semesters. For more information and an application visit:

Wisconsin State Firefighter’s Association Scholarship—“This scholarship is open to anyone that is interested in continuing their education in the
fire service, whether a member of the Wisconsin State Firefighter Association (WSFA) or not. However, priority will be given first to those
applications that are members of the WSFA in good standing.” Deadline is January 15, 2016.
Badgerland Financial High School Scholarship Program—Badgerland Financial is offering up to twenty-two (22) $1,000 scholarships to
graduating high school seniors who are continuing their studies at a short course, technical/trade school, or university. More information and
application is available at https://www.badgerlandfinancial.com/Pages/Our%20Company.aspx. Deadline for application is January 29, 2016.
Trytten Scholarship—“The Department of Chemistry at UWSP urges qualified students to apply for the Trytten Scholarship, awarded annually to
an incoming freshman who intends to major in Chemistry at UWSP. Any student who has a cumulative GPA of 3.50 in high school is eligible to
apply. The total amount of the award is $4,000, applied to UWSP tuition each semester in the amounts of $200 the Freshman year, $400 the
Sophomore year, $600 the Junior Year, and $800 the Senior year. For more information and an application visit:

National FFA Scholarship Program—This scholarship is opened to high school seniors who are current FFA members. For more information and
an application visit: https://www.ffa.org/participate/scholarships. Application closes on February 1, 2016 (5 p.m. EST).
WASBO Foundation Scholarship—Two $4,000 scholarships, one $3,000 scholarship, one $2,000 scholarship, and one $1,000 scholarship will be
awarded to successful candidates who are 2016 graduating high school seniors. The scholarship recipients may pursue any course of study. The
scholarships will be awarded to students attending any accredited college or university (public or private). The objective of these awards is to
provide financial assistance t6o deserving students. For more information and an application visit

Scholarship -- State & National
WEAC Scholarship—“Only high school seniors are eligible to apply, and only if a parent qualifies in one of these membership categories: an active
WEAC member, an active retired member, or a parent who died while holding a WEAC membership. In addition, the student must rank in the top
25% of his or her class or have achieved a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (based on a non-weighted 4.0 scale) at the time of application, plan to
pursue an education major or minor, and intend to teach in Wisconsin. For more information and an application visit: http://weac.org/memberbenefits/weac-scholarships/. Deadline for submitting completed applications is February 1, 2016.
Herff Jones Believe in you Scholarship—The school principal will select the nominee based on leadership, academics or community service for
this scholarship. The nominee has the opportunity to receive a $2,000, $5,000, $8,500 or $12,000 scholarship. Application is available at
https://www.herffjones.com/biuscholarship and is due in the guidance office by February 2, 2016.
WPPA (Wisconsin Professional Police Association) Scholarship—“Any Wisconsin resident enrolling in a college or vocational/technical school in
a course of study leading to a two- or four-year degree in police science, criminal justice, or a law enforcement-related field – which does not include

postmarked on or before February 2, 2016.
Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation, Inc. Scholarship—The State Telecommunications Foundation, Inc. will be awarding
scholarships in 2016. The number of scholarships awarded will be 25, each in the amount of $1,50. The Foundation will also award 2-5
scholarships to high school seniors graduating in 2016 that will be attending a 2-year technical college. For more information and an application

Richard T. Nuske Memorial Scholarship—Three (3) $1,500 scholarships will be awarded in the fall of 2016. The award is to be used for
continuing education at an accredited school. An original essay based on an interview with a U.S. Vietnam Veteran is required. For more

Media World Class Scholars Scholarship—The World Class program -- Mediacom Scholarship Program was formed “to help graduating high
school students with their college expenses, such as tuition and books. Through the World Class program, Mediacom awards $1,000 scholarships to

Zonta Club of Madison Scholarship Program—This is a monetary award program that encourages young college bound women to participate in
public and political life. Award levels are: $500 local, $1,000 district and $4,000 international. Applications and instructions can be downloaded
from the Zonta International website at www.zonta.org. Completed applications, essays and verification forms are due by February 15, 2016.
Agricultural Education Scholarship (Foremost Farms USA)—Foremost Farms USA awards up to 10 scholarships of $2,000 each to memberowners or the children of member-owners who are pursuing a career in the agricultural field. To be eligible, an applicant must have a sincere interest
in continuing education in an agriculture-oriented occupational field. A student must plan to enroll or be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate
course of study at an accredited university, college or vocational-technical institute for a degree or short course program. Application is available at

Buick Achievers Scholarship Program—Scholarship program is offering up to $25,000 per year to high school seniors who plan to enroll in fulltime undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university and plan to major in a specified course of study that focuses on
Engineering, Technology, Design or other programs of study related to the automotive industry. For more information and an application visit their

The Auxiliary of the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association—Several scholarships are offered by the Auxiliary of the NRLCA. For more

March 1, 2016.
Wisconsin Mathematics Council Scholarship-Arne Engebretsen Award—This scholarship is sponsored by Texas Instruments. For more

VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Auxiliary Scholarships—Two scholarships are available: 1) VFW Auxiliary Continuing Education
Scholarship—deadline is February 15, 2016 and 2) Young American Creative Patriotic Art Awards—deadline is March 31, 2016. For more

2016 BBB Students of Integrity Scholarship—“The Wisconsin BBB Foundation awards scholarships to Wisconsin high school students who have
demonstrated character, leadership, and ethical values. The applicant must: be a U.S. citizen, be a legal resident of the state of Wisconsin, have a
minimum grade point average of 3.0, plan to attend an accredited higher education institution, and must be a high school senior. Visit:

office by March 2, 2016 at 4:00 p.m.
Wisconsin Sheriffs & Deputy Sheriffs Association Scholarship—“The Wisconsin Sheriffs and Deputy Sheriffs Association annual scholarship
award program was developed to offer financial assistance to full-time students enrolled in Criminal Justice programs at any Wisconsin college or
university. Its purpose is to encourage educational growth and professionalism among police officers and deputy sheriffs in the State of Wisconsin.
Seven $500 scholarships will be awarded and winners will be selected on a competitive basis. Any Wisconsin state resident that is enrolling in a

SFM Foundation Scholarship—“Since its inception in 2008, the SFM Foundation has awarded 94 scholarships to children of workers disabled or
fatally injured in work-related accidents.” Amount awarded may range between $1,000 and $5,000. Visit: https://www.sfm-foundation.org/ for more
information and an application. Return the official application form before March 31, 2016.
The Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund—This scholarship has been established to honor Mrs. Scott who was among the 125 individuals
who perished in the Pentagon during the attacks by terrorists on the morning of September 11, 2001. The foundation will issue between three and
five $2,500 scholarships this year. These awards are one time awards. For more information and an application visit:

Wisconsin Society for Clinical Laboratory Science Scholarship—“This scholarship is sponsored by the Wisconsin Society for Clinical laboratory
Science and is intended for students planning on majoring in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science. This award is made on the basis of
1) scholarship and 2) character. Application deadline is March 31, 2016.
Wisconsin Restaurant Association Scholarship—The Wisconsin Restaurant Association Education Foundation (WRA EF) welcomes your
application for a culinary and/or hospitality scholarship. WRA EF Endowed Scholarships will be awarded in amounts ranging from $1000 - $2250
for the upcoming 2016/2017 academic year. Deadline is Friday, April 1, 2016 at 5:00pm
American Fire Sprinkler Association Scholarship—2015-1016 high school seniors may enter this contest for the opportunity to win $2,000. For
more information visit: https://www.afsascholarship.org/. Entry deadline is April 6, 2016.
Groth Law Firm Scholarship—“Award amount is $1,500.00. Applicants must be attending college by the Fall 2016 semester and have a minimum
3.0 GPA. This scholarship is open to anyone seeking a higher education. Only online applications will be accepted. The application can be found

27, 2016.”
2016 BigSun Scholarship—The Big Sun Organization is offering a “scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this
