College Career
Pathways
NEXT STEPS:
from College Career Pathways to Manchester Community College
While in high school, you made a wise decision to register for College Career Pathways courses and earn college
credits. The College Career Pathways Coordinator at your high school is responsible for sending your grade report
to the MCC Registrar’s office to be put on your College transcript. We recommend that you speak with the College
Career Pathways Coordinator or your guidance counselor to be sure that you have submitted all required
documentation and are eligible to receive a grade for the College Career Pathways course.
Upon graduation, your next step is to transition from College Career Pathways to college. Currently you are an
MCC College Career Pathways student. To become an MCC student, you will need to submit an MCC Admissions
application to the Admissions office. You do NOT need to pay the $20 application fee. After you graduate, please
have your high school send an official high school transcript, which reflects your graduation date, or submit your
diploma or GED to the MCC Admissions office.
Included with this letter you will find your College Career Pathways ID card with your Banner ID # (student ID),
which you will use to schedule an Assessment Test, register for classes and obtain your grades. To schedule a
test, please go online at www.mcc.commnet.edu, select Prospective Student and click on the Assessment
Testing link. The Assessment test is given to assure that students have adequate preparation for college-level
courses. If you took the Assessment Test while a College Career Pathways student, you do not need to take the
test again and can schedule an appointment to meet with an MCC counselor at (860) 512-3220.
MCC does not require SAT scores for admission to the college. However, if you have taken the SAT exam and
achieved a score of 450 or above on the Verbal/Critical Reading portion, you may request to be exempt from taking
the English portion of the Assessment Test. If you have achieved a score over 500 (inclusive) on the Math portion
of the SAT exam, you are eligible to take Quantitative Literacy (MAT*109) or Intermediate Algebra (MAT* 138). To
be exempt, you will need to fill out an Assessment Testing Exemption form and submit it to the Admissions office
along with a copy of your SAT score report. You may obtain this form on the MCC website or in the Admissions
office.
Once you finish the Assessment Test, you will schedule an appointment to meet with an academic advisor in the
Counseling Center. Our advisors use the Assessment Test results as a guide in helping you with program and
course selection. They will also assist you in registering for courses.
We encourage MCC students to apply early for Financial Aid. The application deadline is May 15. FAFSA is
available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You may contact the MCC Financial Aid office at (860) 512-3380 or come
to the office for assistance.
Please feel free to contact the MCC Admissions office at (860) 512-3210, if you have questions or visit our website
at www.mcc.commnet.edu. Best wishes as you pursue your academic career.
