The proposal was approved. College of Communication, Mark Bernstein, Associate Dean Changes of general interest to more than one college or school: Request to Add an Undergraduate Academic Certificate Program in Sports Media1 The proposal was approved. Changes of exclusive application and of primary interest only to a single college or school: Proposed Changes to the Bachelor of Science in Advertising Degree Program2 The proposal was approved. The College of Communications had communicated with the College of Natural Sciences and resolved a shortage of student spaces in SSC 306. Dean Bernstein noted that the proposal to change the Bachelor of Science in Public Relations, previously approved by this body, has been withdrawn because the proposed changes were no longer necessary if seats in SSC 306 will be made available for communication students. College of Natural Sciences, Sacha Kopp, Associate Dean for Curriculum and Programs Changes of exclusive application and of primary interest only to a single college or school: Proposed Changes to the College of Natural Sciences Chapter The proposal was approved with a few editorial changes to the catalog text: strike “or in University Extension” and reverse the second and third sentences in that paragraph for added clarity (page 520) and change page 525 to say: “Algebra courses at the level of Mathematics 301 or the equivalent may not be counted toward the elective hours in a degree in the College of Natural Sciences.” 1 The proposal was postponed on November 9. 2 The proposal was partially approved on November 9. Note: The importance of CUDPR meetings was reiterated in this meeting, as communication between colleges is fostered and unnecessary course duplications are avoided by addressing and resolving course availabilities for students in different colleges.
