The ACES On-Site and ACES District Orientation provides information in each of the five areas required by the
North Carolina Division of Child Development for new staff members. These areas are: recognition of the signs
and symptoms of child abuse or neglect and the employee’s duty to report suspected abuse and neglect; review
of the center’s operational policies; review of adequate supervision of children, taking into account their age,
emotional, physical, and cognitive development; maintaining a safe and healthy environment; developmentally
appropriate activities for school-age children.
File completed original in the Professional Development Notebook behind the Employee Logs & Documentation
tab with employee’s other training documentation. When employee completes all ACES orientation training, but
no later than 31 days from first day of employment, submit copy of form to ACES Office.
