A Master's or higher degree or the advanced occupational level of training, 2. Verification of completion of three (3) years of teaching experience in vocational educational as specified in Rule 6A-4.002(5) (a), FAC, 3. A valid professional certificate with certification in a vocational class coverage, 4. Thirty (30) semester hours of graduate or upper level credit in administration and supervision to include the following: a. Normally there will be space available for those seeking Local Director certification. Follow the instructions on page 2 to apply to USF as a non-degree seeking student and then to register online for a course. These courses are offered online with no class meetings. Click “Registrar’s Office Forms” then under Quick Links click “Online Non-Degree Seeking Student Application”. In the paragraph of text, click “here”. Enter your SS# twice, select the term and click submit term and follow the instructions to apply. Internet courses do not require completing the Medical History/Immunization Form. Courses with on-campus sessions do require completion of this form. Allow several days for processing this application before trying to register for a course. When your Application has been processed by USF, you can then register for classes. If you can’t get into the USF OASIS system to register following the steps below, wait a few more days for your Application to be processed. USF ID and NetID: First time USF students will also need to apply for a USF ID Card number (you don’t need the actual card) but you will need your ID number to create your NetID for accessing online courses. The USF ID Card is validated each semester when tuition is paid. On-line instructions are available at http://www.auxsvc.usf.edu/form_distance_learning.asp (you’ll need a passport style photo and a check along with the form). When you receive your USF ID number by email, go to https://una.acomp.usf.edu and click “Activate Your USF NetID” and create your Net ID to logon “Blackboard” for Internet classes. This NetID remains the same for future semesters. To Register for a Course(s)—note: you can usually do this about two weeks prior to the first day of classes: 1. Go to www.usf.edu and click on Oasis in lower left corner; then hit “Students Enter Here” and click “Oasis Login” in upper left. At the bottom of the next screen enter your User ID and PIN numbers and hit “Login”. If this is your first time using OASIS, enter your SS# as User ID (no spaces, slashes, etc.) and your date of birth as PIN number. You will be shown how to create a PIN number. Note: Write down your PIN number since you will use it again later to view your final grades and to register for future courses. PIN number questions? Contact the Registrar’s Office at regquest@admin.usf.edu, 813.974.2000. 2. Click “Advising and Registration”, and then click “Class Schedule Search”. Use the drop down boxes to select the Term (Fall, Spring, Summer), Campus (Tampa), for Distance Learning select Web (or online). Note: if you know the Course Reference Number (Ref Number) for the course you can enter that and skip the next steps. Otherwise select College (Education) and Department (Adult/Vocational). Scroll down and hit “Search” and all online courses in the department will be listed. Jot down the Course Reference Number (Ref #) for the course you wish to register for and also note any other information about contacting instructor, orientation, textbook, etc. 3. Close the screen listing the courses and go back to the “Advising and Registration” screen”, then click “Register/Add/Drop My Classes”. 4. Click Term and follow instructions adding one or more classes. Hit exit when done. 5. Back up and click “View My Fee Assessment” to determine payment due. Payment must be received by USF on the last day of the first week of classes to avoid a late fee. You will not receive a bill; after registering it is your responsibility to check the amount due in OASIS. Purchase Textbooks (if applicable): You can order many distance learning books and other materials by Internet at http://www.bookstore.usf.edu. Click on the small grey “textbooks” tab then click on the “Buying your textbooks just got easier!”. Select the current “Term” and then scroll down and select “EVT” for the “Department” and then select the “Course #”, then select the “Section” (make sure you have the correct section), then hit “Go”. Please allow a week for shipping. If no textbook is listed, the instructor is either using a “course packet” available from a source such as Pro-Copy (813-988-5900 or order online at http://www.procopycoursematerial.com using a credit card) or is requesting that students purchase the textbook(s) directly from a source such as Amazon.com. There should be a note in the Oasis system when you register for the course if this is the case or an indication in the course syllabus. Course Internet Access: Once you create your NetID, you can access the web-based course you registered for by going to http://my.usf.edu where you will find the Blackboard system which USF uses. It is suggested that you run the Browser Wizard (click on the Wizard on the left of the sign-in screen) to make sure your computer and browser are compatible with Blackboard.
