Scholarship Application
The Arkansas Association of College and University Business Officers (AACUBO) provides professional development
scholarships each year. The applicant’s institution must be a member of AACUBO for the application to be considered.
The scholarships are awarded on the individual’s potential growth and need.

There are nine scholarship opportunities available, so select one of the following when submitting your application:

CBMI – First-Time Attendee - a total of one (1) scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to attend the 2016
College Business Management Institute (CBMI) in July in Lexington, KY. This scholarship offer is only
available to first-time CBMI attendees.

CBMI – Current Attendee - a total of one (1) scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to attend the 2016
College Business Management Institute (CBMI) in July in Lexington, KY. This scholarship offer available to
any CBMI attendee that is currently working their way through the program.

General Professional Development- a total of three (3) scholarships of $500 will be awarded for professional
development. This may be applied toward the expense of any seminar or workshop recognized by the
institution as professional development, such as a SACUBO fall workshop.

AACUBO Conference Scholarships – a total of four (4) scholarships of $250 each will be provided to pay
registration, hotel and/or mileage to attend the annual AACUBO Meeting in October at ASU-Heber Springs
in Heber Springs, AR. This scholarship offer is only available to first-time AACUBO attendees.
There will also be a drawing for two (2) additional scholarships of $500 for general professional development. There is no
application necessary, and it will be awarded during the business meeting at the annual conference.
Scholarships are granted for one year and must be used before next year’s annual meeting. A check will be made payable
to the individual’s institution upon receipt of documentation of the costs and verification of attendance.
Recipients of the four AACUBO Conference Scholarships will be notified by September 15, 2015 to allow for registration to
this year’s conference. All other scholarship recipients will be announced at the annual business meeting on Tuesday,
October 6, 2015.

A copy of your resume.
A statement explaining why you are seeking the scholarship and how it will be used.
A letter of recommendation from the Chief Fiscal Officer of your institution.
Scan and send your completed AACUBO Scholarship Packet via email to JaNan Abernathy at the address below. All
applications must be received by 5:00 pm on August 31, 2015 to be considered.
