Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The deadline is Tuesday, April 24 (all applications and supporting documents must be turned into the Guidance Office by 3:15 p.m.) Evelyn H. Prince Scholarship The Evelyn H. Prince Scholarship is for seniors who have demonstrated financial needs with plans to attend a four-year college/university or a two-year college university. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The deadline is April 30, 2012. Kiwanis Club Scholarship The Kiwanis Club of Statesville, Inc. gives scholarships to graduating seniors who are planning to continue their education. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The deadline is May 4, 2012. Completed applications and supporting documents must be mailed to the Kiwanis Club. American Business Women’s Association The Llederi Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association offers a scholarship annually. Applicants are reviewed according to grade point average and financial need. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The deadline is April 1, 2012. Southeast Thresher’s Queen Pageant Educational Scholarship The Southeast Thresher’s Queen Pageant offers scholarships to deserving young ladies through pageant participation. The pageant is open to young ladies from rising high school seniors to age 25. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The registration fee ($50) and the application is due by June 16, 2012. American Red Cross – Blood Stock Scholarship The American Red Cross offers $1,000 and $2,000 scholarships through their Blood Stock Program. IIssssu uee 1144 North Carolina Society of Accountants Scholarship The North Carolina Society of Accountants Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization who provides scholarships for deserving students who indicate a desire to enter the accounting profession. The 2012 Lillie Norket Scholarship The Lillie Norket Scholarship is for students who plan to pursue a career in nursing. Students must demonstrate a financial need. Mrs. Carol Johnson also has scholarship applications. 180º Medical Scholarship Program Seniors with spina bifida, a spinal cord injury or transverse myelitis are eligible to apply for this scholarship. American Association of University Women The Statesville Branch of the American Association of University Women is offering the Bobbie G. Edmisten Scholarship to a deserving high school female. The scholarship is awarded to a young lady who has maintained high academic grades, participated in school and community activities and who desires to attend a four-year college/university. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The deadline is April 1, 2012. USPAACC Scholarships The USPAACC offers scholarships to seniors of Asian American descent. Catawba Valley Community College Scholarship The Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) Scholarship is now available in the Guidance Office. You must complete all components of the application by April 30, 2012. Mitchell Community College Scholarship The Mitchell Community College Scholarship is now available in the Guidance Office. One scholarship will be granted in the amount of $2,000. Six scholarships will be granted in the amount of $500 each. The deadline is March 31, 2012. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Iredell County Farm Bureau Scholarship The scholarship is awarded to a senior who plans to attend a community college, technical college or a four-year college/university in North Carolina. It is open to any senior pursuing any career not solely in agriculture or home economics. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2012. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. 2012 “People Helping People” Scholarship – State Employees’ Credit Union The “People Helping People” Scholarship will be awarded to a senior who will attend one of the 16 public universities in North Carolina. The scholarship is valued at $10,000 (payable $1,250 per semester). The WIHS Scholarship Committee will select one senior to receive this scholarship. You must complete the application and return to the Guidance Office by 3:15 p.m. on Friday, April 20. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Carolina CAT – CATERPILLAR Dealer Academy Carolina CAT, along with Florence Darlington Technical College, has openings to attend the Caterpillar Dealer Academy in August 2012. This is an excellent opportunity for graduating high students who are interested in pursuing a career as a Diesel Technician.
