Please note: Accepted students will be partnered with an outstanding Rotary
Business Leader for mentoring. When possible they will be partnered with a mentor
in their chosen career path.

Dear Juniors, Seniors and Graduate Students:
The Rotary Club of Utica invites you to become part of an exciting
College Student Leadership Mentoring Program. The Rotary Club of
Utica, our district’s largest club, is recruiting up to six junior, senior or
graduate students and will match them up with a Rotary Leadership
Mentor for networking and leadership skill development - both
essential to career development. The program will expose students to
the philosophy of ‘Service Above Self’ community leadership which
has made Rotary an outstanding worldwide organization. The Rotary
Club of Utica recognizes the need for leadership skill development
and has established the following program objectives. Students will…

How the program works:
1. Students must be available on Fridays 12:10 pm– 1:30 pm.
2. Interested students should complete the attached application and
either mail or email it to Norma Montagnino-Gemza (directions on
the application) by November 1, 2006.
3. Students will be informed of their acceptance into the program and
assigned a mentor no later than November 17, 2006 and be
required to attend a welcoming meeting on Friday, December 1st at
11:30 am – 1:30 pm at Twin Ponds.
4. Students and mentors will be required to participate in an orientation
meeting on Friday, January 26, 2007.
5. Students will spend a minimum of 10 hours with their Rotary Mentor
at the Mentor’s workplace or other designated place, between
February 1, 2007 and April 1, 2007 as well as participate in one
Rotary service project.
6. Students will be required to attend two designated Utica Rotary Club
meetings as a group. Club meetings are Friday’s at Twin Ponds at
12:10 p.m. A schedule will be provided at the orientation meeting in
January.
7. Students and mentors will participate in a final group evaluation
meeting and attend The Rotary Club of Utica meeting on Friday,
April 20, 2007 where students will give a 3-5 minute presentation on
their mentoring experience.

College’s Career Services Departments on this project! Questions
