EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN COURSES
GETTING STARTED

All new students to Pierce College District must apply to College:

Admission to college is subject to a nonrefundable $25 admission fee. Please indicate that you
are taking the EMT course on the admissions application. If you are seeking a different degree
also indicate Associate or Certificate

Students must check student email regularly
Students must attend Pierce College Orientation as directed in your welcome email
(which is different from EMT orientation)
Students just attending EMT will not be subject to College 110 requirement
Students attending with other degrees must attend College 110 delayed attendance can
be arranged by EMS Advisor.

Advisor signature is required prior to registration.
MYCAA students:
I. Request your MYCAA 10 weeks in advance
II. Request each class put on individual vouchers
III. Each class must have the exact beginning and end date (request from EMS office)
Military personnel using Tuition Assistance:

EMT Basic is a series of three classes and students should register for: EMT 210, EMT 211 and
EMT 212, at the beginning of series. For course tuition and fees information use Tuition


Students must attend a Mandatory Orientation, NO Exceptions, or will be administratively
dropped.

EMT 212 Day Classes: Mon, Wed, and Friday 0830-1300 (NO Tuesday Thursday classes)
Night classes: Tue, Th 1730-2230 (5:30pm-10:30pm)
Sat (0830-1830)
No Class: Feb 16, Attend Feb 19

Course attendance is mandatory you must pre-arrange with the Instructor and EMS Coordinator to
make up any missed days. No more than 8 hours of instruction can be made up.
Students must register for EMT Basic series: EMT 210, EMT 211 and EMT 212.
Successful completion of each course allows you to attend the next.
All applications go through the EMS Staff: Please submit registration and ID ASAP so you can be included in
updates and emails.

Emergency Medical Technician Preferred Package – with Student Workbook and navigate access. Books can
be ordered here:

*Students purchasing through the Stone Education Center Bookstore can pay over the phone and request to
have the books delivered free of charge to our office at the Fort Steilacoom campus for pick up.
Additional Required Course Lab Supplies:
Stethoscope, pocket masks, safety goggles, a watch with a second hand, and a penlight (non LED)
******Successful completion of EMT 210,211,212 prepares the students for the National Registry of
Emergency Medical Technicians certification examination which results in an EMT certificate.******
