Job Description and Expectations
Position:
The Passport/Welcome Week Leadership Team is comprised of four or five Student Directors who serve in
partnership with the First-Year Program and the Passport and Welcome Week Leadership Team to provide
overall direction for both the Passport and Welcome Week programs.
The mission of the Leadership Team:
To assist students in making a meaningful transition into ACU’s distinctive culture that combines faith, living
and learning.
Qualifications and Competencies:







Be a student of exceptional Christian character and academic strength
Be a junior or senior level undergraduate student in Fall 2013
Be an experienced student leader
Be able to live in Abilene all summer 2013 (some flexibility is available)
Be committed to ACU, as demonstrated through extensive involvement
Have decision-making and organization skills
Have a strong work ethic and demonstrate exceptional maturity
General responsibilities:
Work collaboratively to develop the big picture planning for Passport and Welcome Week
Attend and actively participate in regular meetings from January 16, 2013 until September 27, 2013
Attend the June and August Passports and Welcome Week
Determine the theme and overall schedule for Passport and Welcome Week
Work a minimum of 5 hours a week during Spring and Summer in the First-Year Program office
Provide leadership and guidance for the Welcome Week Steering Committee
Communicate with student leaders and campus offices
Provide support and implementation for overall program success
 Regularly meet with and report progress and challenges to the Director of the First-Year Program








