DECISION
Proposal to offer a placement year option for two
courses. Accounting and Finance is an already
approved and delivered course; Finance and
Economics has planning approval only at this stage.
Placement fee of £1,000 (tbc) in addition to the
existing course fees
Anticipated annual recruitment of over 50 fte per
year across the two courses
Students will be required to secure their own
placement(s) with support from the Faculty, a
minimum term of three months per placement and a
maximum of three placements permitted amounting
to a minimum of nine months
Students will receive support from academic tutors in
developing their professional practice and
employability skills training, and through reflective
assessment
Multiple intake points and work placement to attract
international students
One new 120 credit Level P module, 25% new
modules
No significant capital spend

Proposal to offer four versions of a new UG course i) a
standard three year route, ii) to include a placement
year, iii) to follow an accelerated two year route and iv)
to study a top up year only
Proposed home/EU tuition fee of £9,000
international/non-EU tuition fee £9,800 plus a £1,000
(tbc) placement fee
Anticipated annual recruitment of over 30 fte across all
full credit modules and over 20 fte for the top up
course
Note the proposed course title is the same as a course
(different modules and learning outcomes) already
approved to be delivered at the London College of
Accountancy
The placements criteria will be the same as the above
proposal LAIBS 13/03
Multiple intake points and an accelerated course
option is attractive to international students
Course will have potentially 30 credits of new
modules. The placement option will utilise the new 120
credits at level P module which is to be approved.
No significant capital spend
Standard semester delivery pattern except for the
accelerated course which will use the summer
holidays; the structure is to be confirmed
