AICPA Scholarships for Minority Accounting Students - Also found in

The AICPA Minority Scholarship awards outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of
accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. Funding is provided by the AICPA
Foundation, with contributions from the New Jersey Society of CPAs and Robert Half International. For
four decades, this program has provided over $14 .6 million in scholarships to approximately 8,000
accounting scholars.

American Fire Extinguisher Scholarship Program
The AFSA Scholarship Contest is open to high school seniors in the United States who plan to further
their education at a college/university or certified trade school in the United States. The scholarship is not
based on financial need. Relatives of AFSA staff or board members may not enter. You must be a high
school senior during the 2014-2015 school year who will attend a college/university or trade school in the
United States starting with the fall 2015 semester.
Requirements: All applicants must read the "Fire Sprinkler Essay" (pdf) or (html) (approximately 3,000
words) about automatic fire sprinklers and take a ten-question multiple-choice test. This is an open-book
test and you may print out the paper beforehand for reference during testing. For each question answered
correctly, students will receive one (1) entry into a drawing for one of ten $2,000 scholarships. For each
question answered incorrectly, you will be given one more chance at the end of the exam to answer those

American Legion Legacy Scholarship
Through The American Legion Legacy Scholarship, the Legion works to ensure children of U.S. service
members who died on or after Sept. 11, 2001, receive equal opportunities in their pursuit of higher
learning. The Legacy Scholarship Fund awarded nearly $72,000 in scholarships to children of U.S.
military personnel who died on active duty. Donations are welcome and greatly needed, as college costs

ANS Incoming Freshman Scholarship
ANS Incoming Freshman Scholarships are awarded to graduating high-school seniors who have enrolled,
full-time, in college courses and are pursuing a degree in nuclear engineering or have the intent to pursue
a degree in nuclear engineering. ANS will give a maximum of four Incoming Freshman Scholarships
annually. Each award is $1000.
The Scholarships are awarded based on an applicant’s high school academic achievement, freshman
college courses enrolled in, quality and content of 500-word essay, letters of recommendation by
counselors and/or teachers, and other information.

Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) Minority Scholarship
Female. African-American, Hispanic, or Native American (including American Indian, Eskimo,Hawaiian, or

(geology, geophysics, geochemistry, hydrology, meteorology, physical oceanography, planetary geology,

Automotive Hall of Fame Scholarship
The Automotive Hall of Fame serves as administrator to over $20,000 in combined college
scholarships annually. The applicant must indicate a sincere interest in an automotive
related career.
The program has specific scholarships for incoming freshmen and upper-level
undergraduate students. All of the scholarships are based on financial needs and with the
usual minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.
To be eligible for a scholarship you must:
•Submit a completed application form indicating a sincere interest in an automotive career.
•Provide an official transcript of all academic work.
•Submit two letters of recommendation supporting your automotive interests.
•Submit a letter of acceptance for an associate, bachelor, or master’s program.
•Be accepted at an accredited college, university or trade school within the United States at

Chair Scholars Foundation Scholarship
National Program
Available to students in every state in the continental U.S., the National Scholarship Program provides
eligible high school seniors and college undergrads up to $20,000 for tuition to attend the college or
university of their choice.
Florida Program
The Florida Scholarship Program is available to 7th to 11th grade students attending public school in
all Florida counties. These awards provide tuition for college or vocational school with Florida Prepaid

Children of Divorce Scholarship

Common Knowledge Scholarships
Developed and administered at Nova Southeastern University, the Common Knowledge Scholarship
Foundation (CKSF) awards scholarships to students through Internet-based quiz competitions. CKSF
reward students for demonstrating what they know. There is no essay writing or long applications to
complete. Students receive scholarship awards based on common knowledge and basic education
curricula. Students in grades 9 –12 (must live in Broward, Dade, of Monroe County) can go on line and

Daughters of the American Revolution National Society
The NSDAR awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of an
undergraduate degree in one of the following areas: history, political science, economics, government or
nursing. The DAR Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to qualified applicants regardless of race
religion, sex or national origin. All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be
for consecutive years of attendance at an accredited college or university in the United States. The

Drs. Jack and Gloria Tuckfield established the Jacki Tuckfield Memorial Graduate Business
Scholarship to honor the extraordinary life and achievements of their daughter Jacki. Jacki

Johnson Scholarship Foundation
The Johnson Scholarship Foundation is a private Foundation with a mission to assist disadvantaged

The program is open to self-identified Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, or Transgender graduating high school

ELIGIBILITY
 In order to be considered for any of our three HEAT Scholarships, the student must meet the
following criteria:
 Applicant must be a high school student enrolled in a Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach
County public or private school.
 Applicant must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.2 by the end of the second grading period
of their senior year.
 Applicant must submit an official transcript from the high school registrar along with a copy of
their SAT and/or ACT score.
 Applicant must have an unmet financial need for assistance. In order to prove a financial need,
please submit a copy of the
 household’s W2 form(s) and a copy of the last tax filing (i.e. 1040 form) for all household
members.
 Letters to be submitted by applicant:

Two (2) letters of recommendation – each from a current high school teacher or administrator on
school letterhead.

Two (2) or more letters from a community based organization, on that organization’s letterhead
verifying community
 service and hours performed.

One (1) letter from High School Athletic Director or Coach verifying candidate’s participation in a
high school sport.*

Paul Janosky Art Scholarships
The Paul Janosky Art Scholarship is awarded to a Miami-Dade, Broward, or Monroe County high school
senior or graduate who is the son or daughter of a sworn officer working for any law enforcement agency
within the geographical boundaries of Miami-Dade County. They must be planning to or currently

The 2015College Prep Scholarship application is now open. Submit the QuestBridge application by

QuestBridge's College Prep Scholarship provides opportunities designed to help outstanding low-income
high school juniors prepare to apply to top colleges. More than 2,000 students will be selected as College
Prep Scholars and will receive one or more awards that will make them stronger applicants to selective

The QuestBridge College Prep Scholarship is designed for high school juniors who have shown
outstanding academic ability despite facing economic challenges. Most College Prep Scholars come from
households earning less than $60,000 annually and have experienced long-term economic hardship.

WyzAnt College Scholarship
For 2014-2015, our annual college scholarships feature $10,000 in total prize money!
Applicants will be required to write an essay in English of no more than 300 words answering the
question: “What is the most important lesson you have learned in your life?” The essay must be the sole
original work of the Applicant and there may be only one entry per Applicant.
Prior to April 1, 2015, all visitors to WyzAnt’s website will be able to vote on previously submitted essays.
Only one vote per essay, per site user is allowed. At the conclusion of this period, the ten essays with the
highest total number of votes will be selected for a final round. In addition, ten essays will be selected by
WyzAnt staff for the final round. WyzAnt’s decisions are at its sole discretion.
Prior to May 1, 2015, a second round of evaluation will take place during which current WyzAnt tutors will
be allowed to vote on the twenty finalists.
At the conclusion of this period, the three Applicants whose essays have secured the highest total votes
will be awarded scholarships of $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000 respectively.
Anyone who plans to be enrolled in a four year college or university sometime between August 1, 2015
and November 1, 2015 is encouraged to apply. This includes most high school sophomores through
