Local Scholarship Application
Attached you will find the local scholarship application. To be considered as an applicant, there are necessary forms to be completed accurately. It is
recommended that you think carefully about the information you include in your Student Autobiographical Essay and expand your ideas fully in order
to best support your candidacy.
The local scholarship organizations will make awards depending on their own internal criteria. The organizations will consider your academic
achievement, extracurricular participation, future plans for study, and financial need. Per their request, there should be no contact by any student
or parent of graduating seniors to these organizations.
1.
Present Murdock Middle/High School seniors:
A transcript of your high school grades will be included in your application. This packet will be photocopied and given to all local scholarship
organizations. This packet must be returned to Mary Ellsworth in the Guidance Office no later than 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2015.
Please highlight any scholarship you are applying for, making sure you meet the criteria.

Other students (Alumni & Winchendon residents):
A list of the organizations offering scholarships this year, with addresses, will be provided to you. You may then choose any or all scholarship
organizations to which you wish to apply. It is your responsibility to copy and forward this information to the appropriate organizations no later
than May 1, 2015.

All application packets must include:
a.
Autobiographical Essay (Typed essays preferred and make sure name is listed at top of each page) Make sure to check
for spelling errors and grammatical errors. Remember the essay is an important part of deciding the scholarship recipient.
b.
Personal/Financial Data Sheets – you must enclose a copy of your acceptance letter and the financial award letter from
the college. Also list any scholarships or financial aid you have already received on the financial information sheet.
***Please note: Incomplete scholarship packets will not be forwarded to the
Scholarship sponsors.
