JMU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION LEGACY SCHOLARSHIPS
The James Madison University Legacy Scholarship program honors matriculating students whose parent(s) or grandparent(s) graduated from JMU.
Two renewable scholarships are awarded each year that can be renewed for up to four years as long as the recipient maintains good academic standing. Numerous one-time legacy scholarships of varying amounts, funded by the sale of JMU Virginia state license plates, are also awarded to legacy freshman who are Virginia residents.
Legacy Scholars are designated on the basis of achievement. Legacy scholarships are not granted on the basis of financial need.
Application requirements:

Electronic submissions are strongly encouraged . The receipt of electronic applications will be acknowledged within two business days.
Candidates should submit electronic applications a few days ahead of the May 29, 2015 deadline to ensure timely delivery. Please identify your saved file “your first name, last name, legacy app.doc.” Send electronic applications to: alumniawards@jmu.edu

Summaries of personal achievements (including school and non-school sponsored activities, community service, honors and awards, employment history) c.

Applications are due by close of business 5:00 p.m., Friday May 29, 2015.

Legacy connections will be verified within two days of receipt of the application. If no legacy connection is verified, the application is void.
