AmeriCorps and Connect2Complete members attend
workshops that highlight campus-community

3-day event

selected to participate in a unique civic learning
experience filled with interactive dialogue
between students and public officials.
Held in the capital, Tallahassee, FL, and includes
sessions with officials from legislative, executive
and judicial branches of state and local
governments. One highlight includes a "mock trial"
in the Florida Supreme Court.

For Student Veteran Coordinators from the
administration of each of our member campuses
and the heads of the student Veteran student
organizations (if they exist) on those campuses.
- Round tables will explore transitional issues
experienced by student Veterans in orienting to
the campus environment from military service,
and any issues experienced by the administrations
in identifying and providing services needed by
their student Veteran population.
- Workshops in which ILCC will present guidelines
and "best practices" to the administrators in
hopes of solving their identified issues or bettering
their existing processes and procedures.
Students will hear from state leaders in education and
government; engage in meaningful conversations that
focus on the issues affecting higher education in
Indiana; and have the opportunity to come together –
around a shared commitment to action – creating a
strengthened network of informed, civic leaders in
Indiana higher education. Moreover, participants will
bolster their civic competence – preparing them to
become lifelong civic leaders.

Description
During our fall regional networking meetings and
spring conference, ICC offers specific programming
geared toward student participants. The purpose is to
involve student participants in networking and
connections with students from across the state;
enhance their leadership development skills; and
engage them in meaningful reflection. Past sessions
include: Maximizing Your Leadership through Service,
Work on Purpose with Echoing Green, Working with
Your State Legislators and Local Government Leaders,
and Engaging Your Campus Administrators.

IUGO: (pronounced "you-go") from the Latin meaning
"to connect, or bind together" brings together student
leaders from across the state to learn and grow.
Students and organizations can earn valuable

Description
Designed to prepare college students to be change
agents for the issues in which they are passionate, this
day-long collaborative environment involves college
students from across Michigan and leaders in the
fields of service, advocacy, and philanthropy. It allows
student leaders the opportunity to seek out successful
models in leading community service initiatives, gain
valuable skills in mobilizing efforts to maximize impact
and network with other student leaders and nonprofit
professionals.

The Semester of Service
Award
When students provide service (through volunteering, servicelearning, or a combination of service opportunities) to
neighborhood organizations or government agencies over the
course of a single semester, they track their hours with the
Semester of Service Passport. At the end of the semester,
students who have provided 45 hours or more of service will be
eligible to receive the following:
•A Certificate of Service = Community Contributor (45 hrs),
Community Changer (70 hrs), Community Catalyst(100 hrs)
•Missouri Campus Compact website recognition
•A letter of recognition to the student
•A letter to the president of the student’s institution
•Two letters to people (parents, employers, coaches,
instructors, etc.) identified by student

Students serve with local nonprofit and
government agencies throughout Arizona,
Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota and
South Dakota. Members serve in positions that
focus on increasing academic engagement in K-12
schools; providing primary and preventive
healthcare to those living in designated
underserved areas; and recruiting, training and
managing volunteers for nonprofit and
government agencies to build capacity and
infrastructure for volunteer management.
Engages college students, in Massachusetts,
Connecticut and Puerto Rico, in direct service to
community organizations. Through their service,
students build the capacity of campuscommunity partnerships for long-term
sustainability through volunteer recruitment and
coordination, service program management and
development, and by improving community
knowledge of partnership-building resources.
College students serve as mentors to at-risk
youth, with the goal of helping their mentees
gain skills and knowledge needed for their
eventual college access and success. Members
provide mentoring, one-on-one or in a smallgroup setting, to students in grades 6-12, in,
before, during, and after school hours hosted by
school districts and community agencies.
