Attendees also participate in local service projects. Student Scholars' Institute - - Illinois Student Veterans Conference (Proposed) Indiana Statewide Civic Leadership Conference (Fall) 3-day event limited number of students are competitively selected to participate in a unique civic learning experience filled with interactive dialogue between students and public officials. Held in the capital, Tallahassee, FL, and includes sessions with officials from legislative, executive and judicial branches of state and local governments. One highlight includes a "mock trial" in the Florida Supreme Court. - For Student Veteran Coordinators from the administration of each of our member campuses and the heads of the student Veteran student organizations (if they exist) on those campuses. - Round tables will explore transitional issues experienced by student Veterans in orienting to the campus environment from military service, and any issues experienced by the administrations in identifying and providing services needed by their student Veteran population. - Workshops in which ILCC will present guidelines and "best practices" to the administrators in hopes of solving their identified issues or bettering their existing processes and procedures. Students will hear from state leaders in education and government; engage in meaningful conversations that focus on the issues affecting higher education in Indiana; and have the opportunity to come together – around a shared commitment to action – creating a strengthened network of informed, civic leaders in Indiana higher education. Moreover, participants will bolster their civic competence – preparing them to become lifelong civic leaders. 2 State Indiana Student Conference/Retreat Student Track – Regional Networking Meetings (Fall) and Service Engagement Summit (Spring) Description During our fall regional networking meetings and spring conference, ICC offers specific programming geared toward student participants. The purpose is to involve student participants in networking and connections with students from across the state; enhance their leadership development skills; and engage them in meaningful reflection. Iowa IUGO Student Leadership Conference Kansas Hunger Dialogue IUGO: (pronounced "you-go") from the Latin meaning "to connect, or bind together" brings together student leaders from across the state to learn and grow.
