July 15, 2015
Dear Parent/Guardian of a Prospective Gar-Field Senior High School MCJROTC Cadet,
Your student is currently registered for the Leadership Education – I (LE-I) class, which is
the first year course of instruction for the Gar-Field Senior High School Marine Corps
Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (MCJROTC) program. In preparation for the
2015-2016 school year, the Gar-Field Senior High School MCJROTC instructional staff is
inviting all first year MCJROTC cadets to participate in a VOLUNTARY LE-I Orientation
Program from August 19-21, 2015 here at Gar-Field Senior High School. The LE-I
Orientation Program is conducted in order to provide a basic orientation for first year
MCJROTC cadets prior to the start of the school year. Scheduled events, to include
classroom instruction, close order drill (marching), physical training, and athletic
competition, will be conducted in accordance with the daily training schedule found on the
back of this letter. The LE-I Orientation Program also serves as a Leadership Camp for
upper class MCJROTC cadets, who will assist the MCJROTC instructional staff in the
coordination and execution of the program.
Participants in the LE-I Orientation Program must complete the enclosed form, which
contains:
Application and Agreement for Participation Form
Emergency Data Form
For those students planning to participate, please complete both sides of the form, and send
them to the Gar-Field Senior High School MCJROTC instructional staff as soon as possible,
but no later than Wednesday, August 12, 2015. If you need additional time to get the
forms turned-in, you must notify the MCJROTC Instructional Staff prior to the deadline.
Students who arrive for Orientation without completed forms will NOT be allowed to
participate. Participating students should report to the Gar-Field Senior High School
MCJROTC classroom (1310) no later than 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2015.
If you have any additional questions, please contact me at (571) 298-0410 or via email at
