UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICERS’ TRAINING CORPS July 15, 2015 Dear Parent/Guardian of a Prospective Gar-Field Senior High School MCJROTC Cadet, Your student is currently registered for the Leadership Education – I (LE-I) class, which is the first year course of instruction for the Gar-Field Senior High School Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (MCJROTC) program. In preparation for the 2015-2016 school year, the Gar-Field Senior High School MCJROTC instructional staff is inviting all first year MCJROTC cadets to participate in a VOLUNTARY LE-I Orientation Program from August 19-21, 2015 here at Gar-Field Senior High School. The LE-I Orientation Program is conducted in order to provide a basic orientation for first year MCJROTC cadets prior to the start of the school year. Scheduled events, to include classroom instruction, close order drill (marching), physical training, and athletic competition, will be conducted in accordance with the daily training schedule found on the back of this letter. The LE-I Orientation Program also serves as a Leadership Camp for upper class MCJROTC cadets, who will assist the MCJROTC instructional staff in the coordination and execution of the program. Participants in the LE-I Orientation Program must complete the enclosed form, which contains: Application and Agreement for Participation Form Emergency Data Form For those students planning to participate, please complete both sides of the form, and send them to the Gar-Field Senior High School MCJROTC instructional staff as soon as possible, but no later than Wednesday, August 12, 2015. If you need additional time to get the forms turned-in, you must notify the MCJROTC Instructional Staff prior to the deadline. Students who arrive for Orientation without completed forms will NOT be allowed to participate. Accordingly, cadet cadre and students are encouraged to wear casual/comfortable clothing. Shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes are recommended. For Thursday, there will be a short walk on the trails in the wooded area behind the school.
