Scholarship is renewable with 3.2 G.PA. Eligibility: Exemplary high school record, must meet one of following criteria: top 5% of class, ACT 26 or SAT 1170. SAT combined CR and M score of 1170. EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY, Ypsilanti, Michigan PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP Amount: Sixteen full-ride Presidential Scholarships $60,000 over four years; Regents Scholarship is a four-year award that pays $12, 00 over four years. Thirty RegentsGold Scholarships (Tuition and Fees for 4 years) are available to incoming freshman who have competed in the President Scholarship. Eligibility: Graduating high school senior in 2009, admissible to Eastern Michigan for fall 2008. A 3.7 GPA to be eligible for the Presidential Scholarship. How to apply: Send a completed scholarship and University application form. Deadline: All applications due November 21, 2008. INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY NETWORK SCHOLARSHIPS Amount: Four-year, $20,000 scholarship to Indiana State University. They also receive a new wireless laptop, professional development account worth $3,000 to use for education related international travel, internship opportunities. Eligibility: A GPA of 3.25 or higher, Rank in the top one-third of class. A score of at least 1000 out of 1600 on the SAT or 21 ACT. Plan to major or minor in a program offered in the College of Business. Intend to pursue a career in the financial services industry. Have demonstrated leadership success. Deadline: December 1, 2008. 1 MIAMI UNIVERSITY Oxford, OH HARRISON SCHOLARSHIP Amount: Miami’s premier scholarship program. It provides four-year renewable awards for tuition, fees, on-campus room and board. Eligibility: Average 34 ACT or 1530 SAT (CR&M). Must have a rigorous high school curriculum and a strong records of extracurricular involvement. Harrison applications are reviewed for much more than these indicators alone. This scholarship is renewable with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. How to apply: To be considered for admission into the Harrison Scholars Program, students must submit the Honors Application in addition to the regular admission application submitted to the Office of Admission. OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY Columbus, OH MAXIMUS SCHOLARSHIP Amount: $2,700 ($10,800 four-year value) and the opportunity to compete for more (see Maximus Competition, below) Note: Due to the award's value, Maximus Scholars are not eligible for the Provost or Trustees scholarship. Eligibility: The Maximus Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to admitted Columbus campus students; those considered rank in the top three percent of their classes with ACT composite scores of 32 or higher or combined SAT Critical Reading and Math scores of 1420 or higher. Eligibility: Students whose class rank places them in the top 10% of their graduation class with SAT critical reading and math is 1250 or higher or ACT composite score is 27 or higher. UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI, Cincinnati, OH DARWIN T. TURNER SCHOLARSHIP PRGORAM Amount: Tuition, general fee and provides a $1050 stipend. Eligibility: Be American Indian/Alaska Native, Black, Asian/Pacific Islander or Hispanic. A permanent resident in Ohio. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. 24 ACT/ 1070 SAT. EMORY UNIVERSITY, Atlanta, Georgia EMORY SCHOLARS PROGRAM Amount: Typically range from two-thirds tuition to full tuition, room and board, and fees over four years. Eligibility: High school seniors who have demonstrated qualities of forceful and unselfish character, intellectual and personal vigor, outstanding academic achievement, impressive skills in communication, significant leadership and creativity in school or community, and clear potential for enriching the lives of their contemporaries at Emory University. Must demonstrate high scores on aptitude tests and have excellent academic and personal records. How to apply: You must submit a brief (750 words) about yourself, focusing on one or two of your principal intellectual interests. You must also submit an Emory University application and be accepted to the University to be qualified for this scholarship program. Applications are available in the guidance dept. Deadline: November 1, 2008. 3 INDUSTRY RELATED SCHOLARSHIPS COCA-COLA SCHOLARS FOUNDATION, Atlanta, Georgia Amount: 250 achievement-based scholarships. Fifty awards are for $20,000 payable over four- year period; the other 200 awards are for $10,000 also payable over four years. These awards can be used for any line of study at any U.S. accredited college/university. Eligibility: Well-rounded students with highly developed interests in their community who are leaders in their schools. They are often employed during the school year and/or summer and balance extracurricular activities with strong academic performances. Criteria: academic achievement, including ACT/SAT scores, 40%, extracurricular achievement, could include work experience and/or community involvement, 30%, and essay 30%. CLEVELAND BROWNS MARION MOTLEY SCHOLARSHIP Amount: Four-year renewable scholarship of $2,500 per year, and a summer internship within the Cleveland Browns Organization. Eligibility: 2.5GPA, 17 ACT or 820 on the math and verbal portions of the SAT, must be enrolled in high school located in Northeast Ohio, and plan to enroll in college. Students should plan to major in areas that would lead to a career working for a professional sports organization. Two essays are required. Extracurricular activities resume or List of Activities. Emphasis will be placed on ability to clearly articulate academic and career goals, students who are the first or second generation in their family to attend college, service to the community, maturity and motivation. GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS PROGRAM Renewable awards for African American, American Indians/ Alaskan natives, Hispanic Americans and Asian Pacific Americans who plan on pursuing technology related studies. Must be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the U.S. Winners are chosen for academic performance in math and science, participation in activities, leadership potential, and financial need. In addition, students must possess a minimum 3.3 GPA. Must plan to enroll in an accredited college or university as a full time student. Must have Demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities. Meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria. Eligibility: Awarded to academically talented, highly motivated African-American high school seniors who intend to pursue undergraduate degrees full-time. Must have traits of excellence, leadership, commitment to public service, and a desire to make a difference. While financially needy students receive preference, emphasis is placed upon academic achievement and community service. Most recipients are in the top 5% of their class and are involved in volunteer efforts within their community.
