Student Checklist for Enrolling
in Dual Enrollment Courses
APPLY ONLINE
There is no fee to apply to TCTC as a dual enrollment student.








Go into www.tctc.edu/apply
Click on First Time User Account Creation and create a Login ID and PIN
Select Application Type “6 - Dual Enrollment”
Under Admission Term, select the first semester you plan to attend
Be sure to enter your driver’s license/permit number, the date of issue, and state.*
Under High School Information, enter your expected high school graduation date
For major, the application should be set for “University Studies.” You should not make changes to this screen.
Click on Application is Complete when finished
* If you do not have a driver’s license/permit, you must complete a Declaration of Citizenship form and provide appropriate documentation.
The form can be found in www.tctc.edu under High School Connection, Career Pathways for Success/Dual Enrollment.
You will receive an acceptance letter in the mail from the college once you have completed the application and turned in your CPS Dual
Enrollment Permission Form. Your acceptance letter contains your student ID T# and username.
CPS PERMISSION FORM
Submit the completed CPS Dual Enrollment Permission Form by fax to (864) 646-5096 or scan/email to Debbie Powell at
dpowell@tctc.edu. This form can be found in www.tctc.edu under High School Connection, Career Pathways for Success/Dual
Enrollment, Permission Form.
COMPASS PLACEMENT TEST - You may test or retest the COMPASS at the following TCTC campuses:
Pendleton Campus 646-1300
Miller Hall 105

Mon-Thurs 8 am–5 pm; Fri 8 am-noon










Anderson Campus 260-6700

Tuesdays only, 2-5 pm
Students who did not take the COMPASS at their high school need to apply to the college before testing
Students who took the COMPASS at their high school do not need to apply to the college before retesting
Students who are retesting need to retest in only the subject area(s) in which they did not receive a qualifying score
No appointment is necessary
A picture ID is required to take the COMPASS
Testing takes approximately 1½ - 2 hours for all three subject areas and is untimed
There will be a $10 charge to retest, if you have tested at a Tri-County campus before
If you bring a calculator, it must meet the guidelines in www.act.org/compass/student/calculator.html or you may use the calculator built into
the COMPASS.
It is highly suggested students prepare for the COMPASS by visiting the ACT website www.act.org/compass/student/ and other suggested
websites in www.tctc.edu by clicking on Admissions then Placement Testing.
After testing, you may go into www.tctc.edu and click on Admissions then Placement Testing and about ¾ of the way, click on “What do
my COMPASS test scores mean?” This chart will tell you what courses you qualify to take at TCTC.
TUITION ASSISTANCE FORM
If you enroll in 6 or more credit hours (typically two courses) in the same semester, you may qualify for Lottery Tuition Assistance. This will
pay a significant portion of your tuition costs per semester and is not based on need. Submit the completed Lottery Tuition Assistance
Waiver form by fax to (864) 646-5096 or scan/email to Debbie Powell at dpowell@tctc.edu. This form can be found at www.tctc.edu under
High School Connection, Career Pathways for Success/Dual Enrollment, and Costs and Financial Assistance. You may also
contact TCTC’s Financial Aid Office at (864) 646-1650, for additional information.
REGISTER FOR COURSES
Click on Search Courses at the top of the home page in www.tctc.edu to find course(s) and times OR go into www.tctc.edu under High
School Connection, Career Pathways for Success/Dual Enrollment, and Course Offerings. Once you have an idea of which courses,
location and times, then email the Dual Enrollment Advisor for Homeschooled High School Students, Leigh Colombo, at
lcolombo@tctc.edu, so that she may manually register you into your courses. Any changes to your schedule prior to the end of the
drop/add date during the first week of classes must be done by Ms. Colombo.
After you have received your acceptance letter, follow the
log in instructions on the next page to access your account and finish
all applicable items on the checklist.

Contact the TCTC Service
Go to www.tctc.edu and click on the Tri-County Technical College
logo at the top right.
Desk at 864-646-1779.
Click on “New to eTC? Setup your Account”
Click on the link http://account.tctc.edu.
Enter your username and password. Your initial password is your T-Number and two digit day of birth. Please note that the T
is capitalized. Follow the instructions to set up your new password. (Your username and T# are in your acceptance letter.)
*To log in to eTC, do Step 1 above and enter your username and password.
FORWARD TCTC EMAILS TO PERSONAL EMAIL
In eTC, click on the Welcome tab. In the eTC announcements box, click on Regroup, then login using your eTC username and password.
On the Email/Phone tab, enter your personal email address, then click the Add button
CHECK YOUR TCTC SCHEDULE to make sure that you are in the right classes!
Check your schedule early and often by logging in to eTC, clicking on the Get Set tab, then Student Bill and Schedule under Section 6.
PAY TUITION AND FEES by the *due date below or the system will drop you from your class(es)
In eTC, click on the Get Set tab, then in the Pay tuition & fees section choose “Enroll in an installment payment plan” or “Make an online
payment.” You may also pay in person or by phone with a credit card by contacting the Business Office at 864-646-1802. If mailing
payment, send to Tri-County Technical College, Attention: Business Office, PO Box 587, Pendleton, SC 29670.
ATTENDANCE FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES
You must attend class the first day and week of class or you may be dropped from a course(s).
ONLINE CLASSES - You must log in to your online course the first week of classes or the instructor will drop you from the course. You
may log in to Blackboard on the main eTC login screen or on the Learn tab in eTC. For help, contact the Service Desk at 864-646-1779.
BOOKS
On the first day of class, your instructor will tell you what materials are required for their class, but if you wish to purchase textbooks and
other materials early, you may purchase textbooks online at www.ishoptctc.com or contact the Campus Store at (864) 646-1824 for other
options and payment plans. If a textbook is sealed in shrink-wrap, it cannot be returned once it is opened.
STUDENT ID / PARKING DECALS
A student ID is necessary to utilize library services and other resources and services of the college. If you are taking a course on one of
TCTC’s campuses, you will need a free parking decal to place in your car window. To receive an ID and/or parking decal, you must present
a valid driver’s license, a copy of your vehicle registration, and your course schedule with T# to the Campus Safety office. If you are taking
courses online only, a parking decal is not necessary.
CHECK YOUR TCTC GRADES (midterm and final)
In eTC, click on the Learn tab and see choices in the View Grades box.
