Engineering Courses
Graduates completing a course in engineering are qualified as Technicians and Engineers and
can find a satisfying career in Design, Installation, Testing, Telecommunications,
Maintenance and repair of computer-based system and in Research and Development.
Mechatronics Courses
Graduates completing a course in mechatronics will be qualified as Technicians and
Engineers and will be capable of working in a number of interesting areas i.e., Process
Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing, Automation, Quality and Business Process.
Computing Courses
Graduates are equipped with the necessary skills to work in a broad range of commercial,
industrial and technological areas as Programmers, Developers, Software Engineers,
Technicians and Project Managers.
Creative Digital Media
Employment opportunities exist in web development, animation, communications, multimedia design, e-commerce, education, enabling software, games, media distribution, mobile
media technologies, multimedia production to name a few. Graduates may also have an
opportunity to continue their studies at postgraduate level in ITB.
Horticulture Courses
Graduates will find careers in commercial horticulture and may work in Sales & Marketing,
Food Science and Technology, Food Crop or Ornamental Crop Production. Alternatively
graduates may decide to follow a career in amenity horticulture and work in Landscape
Design and/or Maintenance, Floristry, Garden Centre Operation, Sportsturf Management,
Estate and Parks Management, Arboriculture and Tree Surgery or in Landscape construction.
Other career areas are in Education, Research, Media and Journalism.
Applied Social Studies in Social Care
Graduates will find career opportunities as Social Care Workers, Leaders and Managers and
will work with children, adolescents, people with learning or physical disabilities, people who
are homeless, people with alcohol or drug dependency, families, the aged, asylum seekers or
refugees. Work is usually carried out in residential centres, day centres and in the community.
Graduates have also the opportunity to continue their education through to masters degree

level and to date Social Care graduates have crossed disciplines into such areas as primary
teaching, social work, child protection and addiction studies.
Community and Social Development Course
Graduates of these courses may seek employment in different areas of social and community
work such as civic leaders, local government advisors, councillors or community programme
co-ordinators. Graduates may also be employed in a variety of sectors working with youth,
marginalized or disadvantages groups, ethnic minorities, social enterprises and health
promotion. On completion of this programme graduates may gain employment in voluntary,
statutory and private sector organisations or work with various charities and nongovernmental organisations (NGOs) at national or international levels.
General Business Courses
Graduates will obtain positions in many areas of industry, commerce and the public service in
Accountancy, Marketing, Management Information Systems, General Management and
Human Resource Management. Graduates of ITB are working in Financial Services, General
Administration, Advertising, Public Relations and Event Management. Graduates of business
studies courses are responsible for managing the many services that allow organisations to
operate efficiently. Specific duties for business administrators and managers vary according to
degree of responsibility and authority. These may include managing people, finance,
marketing or clerical work.
Business Studies with IT and Language Courses
These new programmes have an international dimension and are specifically designed to give
graduates a range of skills in careers in the national and international marketplace. They will
be attractive, in particular, to companies operating in global markets where language and
intercultural knowledge and skills are in increasing demand. Graduates will be able to enter
employment in a range of functional areas including: Accounting & Finance; Marketing &
Sales, Human Resources Management and General Administration.
