instruct a Pre-choreographed routine, instruct a Prechoreographed routine, perform a Pre-choreographed routine,
and communicate a Pre-choreographed routine.

Explanatory notes
1
Definitions
Choreography refers to how a series of exercises are performed and linked together
to create an exercise routine.
Pre-choreographed routine refers to one or more classes in a programme of
exercises performed to music in a sequence created by somebody else.
CRC – Connect, Recommend, Commend.

All activities must be consistent with the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992.

The candidate must be assessed instructing a class of at least five participants.

Outcome 1
Prepare to instruct a Pre-choreographed routine.
Evidence requirements
1.1
Routine is demonstrated in accordance with Pre-choreographed programme.

Physical execution of movement is technically correct in accordance with Prechoreographed programme.

Differences between musical and movement expression are demonstrated in
accordance with Pre-choreographed programme.

flair, timing, strength and energy, emotion, rhythm, passion.
Personal presentation role models success in accordance with Prechoreographed programme.

well-groomed, appropriate tidy standard of attire, fit for the
programme taught.

Pre-class interaction demonstrates motivational skills in accordance with Prechoreographed programme.

Introduction and close demonstrates ability to engage participants in
accordance with Pre-choreographed programme.

4.3
class focussed, timely and personal, references to and options for
new participants, low impact modifications, class plan outlined.
Communication promotes class and individual focus throughout the routine in
accordance with Pre-choreographed programme.

4.4
communication in-between tracks, eye contact made with class,
word selection that is inclusive of the group, safety reminders,
eye contact, smiles and personalised talk directed to individuals.
Post-class interaction demonstrates motivational skill in accordance with Prechoreographed programme.
