Teaching and work Experience
Present Position: Working as Assistant Surgeon performing and assisting all the
surgeries in the Department of Thoracic Surgery at American Oncology Institute/
Citizen Hospital, Hyderabad, India along with Dr. Sai Yendamuri an eminent Thoracic
surgeon from USA.
July 2012 to June 2013: Fellow in Clinical Thoracic surgery at Brigham and Women’s
Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston , USA till June 2013.
September 2011 to June 2012 : Assistant Professor/ Attending in the Department of CT
Surgery, Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, AP, India, which is one of the
prestigious Institution across south India. During this period I was actively performing
and assisting all major surgeries in thoracic surgery
August 2008 to August 2011, worked as second P.G in the Dept. of Cardiothoracic surgery, Osmania medical College, Hyderabad, A.P. (Under the
supervision of senior professors) leading to acquiring a M.Ch / Fellowship degree.
 Examined patients to determine the necessity of surgery.
 Provided appropriate surgical procedures and treatment
 Discussed recommended procedures, surgical risks and expected outcomes to
patients and had those sign waiver and approval forms before procedure is
made.
 Conducted & participated in numerous medical camps in the rural places,
identifying cardiac diseases, educating them about their condition and referring
them to higher centers to get treated.
 Used established surgical techniques during operations.
 Assisted various cardiac surgeries (bypass operations), beating heart surgeries
i.e. CABG, lung surgeries and vascular surgeries.
 Performed surgeries like cardiac cannulations, ASD/ VSD/ PDA closures,
Thoracotomy (elective & emergency), lobectomy, pneumonectomy, lung
decortications surgery, saphenous vein and IMA harvesting, tube thoracostomy,
traumatic diaphragmatic ruptures, lung contusion, vascular anastomoses etc.
November 2005 to August 2008, worked as Consultant in Dept of General
Surgery, Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, A.P.

 Preparing and Conducting regular lectures and seminars for MBBS students
keeping an eye on the understanding of the students on various topics.
 Carrying out debate sessions in regular classes to help students to understand
the subject better.

interest about the subject.
 Performing and assisting all general and laparoscopic surgeries as a team leader.

activities of the Department. I also have done various major surgeries and other
clinical duties. Weekly one night duty is done by me dealing with various

April 2002 to November 2005 - worked as a P.G/ Resident leading to acquiring a
Masters Degree in General Surgery, in the month of November 2005.
 Provided primary care to in-patients assigned to me including performing a
history and physical examination, writing a treatment plan and keeping progress
notes covering diagnostic evaluation, progress and discharge.
 Observed, managed and treated about 20 % of patients admitted to the hospital,
including daily ward rounds, progress notes, orders, communication with
nursing staff, parents, attending physicians and other primary care providers.
 Caring for severely ill patients with life threatening conditions.
 I am well trained in dealing with all Surgical Emergencies, CPR, Advanced
Trauma Care, Road Traffic Accidents etc. I am exposed to various surgical skills
like Tracheostomy, cricothyroidotomy, ICD insertion, Endotracheal Intubation,
Central Line Insertion, Exploratory Laparotomy, and Diagnostic Laparoscopy
independently. Before attained the seniority in this job, I was permitted to do all
the major surgeries, which I have done with full confidence.
 During this period I have also qualified for Part 1( Basic Sciences and Trauma ) &
2( system modules ) examinations of M.R.C.S . I am due to take the final (part 3)
examination.
October 2001 to April 2002- worked as a Senior Intern, in the Department of
Pediatrics, of Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad, India.
During this period I dealt with all Medical, Surgical Pediatric Emergencies and out
patients care.
July 1998 to October 2001- worked as a Medical officer, in a Regional Health Center,
Nalgonda District, A.P., of India.
In this job, I attended and treated the patients of all specialties, as a primary Medical
doctor. Also was conducting surgeries such as tubectomy & vasectomy, as a part of my
wider family planning programs.
Other duties included providing basic trauma care, dealing with Medico-Legal cases
