Tuesday, March 11, 2014 MISC SCHEDULE CHANGES FOR TODAY & TOMORROW: Wednesday’s Pride Assembly has been rescheduled for 3/26. Wednesday will be the regular schedule. TODAY all class periods will be shortened, and there will be a Pep Assembly at 2:45. The schedule will be: 1st: 8:30 - 9:25, 2nd: 9:30 - 10:25, 3rd: 10:30 - 11:25, 4th: A Lunch 11:25-11:50, B Lunch 11:55-12:20, C Lunch 12:25-12:50, 5th: 12:55-1:50 and 6th: 1:55-2:45. The basketball cheerleaders and pep band members need to be excused at 2:30 for the assembly. Tiger Paws need to be dismissed at 2:20. GHS will be hosting the LifeServe Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 25th! To be eligible to give blood you must: Be in general good health Be 16 years of age or older Weigh at least 120 pounds Have not made a whole blood donation in the past eight weeks (56 days). Have not made a double red cell donation in the past sixteen weeks (112 days). Students and teachers, sign up this week during E2 or lunch. This blood drive is also open to the public! ATHLETICS Tickets will be on sale at the Grinnell High School until 1:00 today to the boys' State basketball game at Wells Fargo this evening. They are $8.00 each. Sign up in the office to ride the pep bus to the boys' State basketball game today. The cost is free. The bus will depart from the north side of the high school at 6:00 p.m. The cheerleading banquet will be March 25th at 5:00 at Pagliai's and they should bring $5. There will be a boys tennis meeting Thursday after school in Coach Edsen's room. Anyone interested in Boys Golf this spring - short meeting in Coach Bakers' room Wed. March 12th right after school. Tiger Paws dance team will be holding tryouts for the 2014-15 dance team on Saturday, March 15th at 11am at the Grinnell High School new gym. Practices for tryouts will be held Wednesday, March 12th, Thursday, March 13th and Friday March 14th from 6am7:15am, also in the new gym at the high school. Anyone entering 9th-12th grade next year is eligible to try out! The Catherine McAuley Scholarship provides free tuition to Iowa students whose family income is $45,000 or less annually. These scholarships are renewable for up to four years.
