We are committed to quality, relevant local programming and have won awards in Regional and National Competitions. We are looking for keen, knowledgeable, reliable students to do co-op with Rogers TV Dufferin-Peel. Positions are available, as indicated, at both the Mississauga (3573 Wolfedale Road) and the Brampton (8200 Dixie Road) locations of Rogers TV. A) Producer’s Assistant: 5 positions in total-Mississauga only Two 4 credit placements Three 2 credit placements – one a.m. placement and two p.m. placements The student will be working closely with the producer of the “Access Peel” show, sports shows and political shows. They will research topics, contact guests and event organizers, coordinate shoots, transcribe interviews and linear editing (“tape to tape”). As needed, they will update the database used for show bookings and complete special projects.The opportunity to learn reporting for the “Access Peel” program may arise. The student must have a positive attitude, excellent time management skills, be able to work independently, have strong oral and written communication skills, take initiative, have good interpersonal and listening skills and be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook email. They need to be flexible and co-operative when changes in duties and responsibilities arise. This role will not be involved in studio production Students must be available Monday to Friday from approximately 9:00 – 5:00 pm (4 credit), Monday to Friday from approx. 12pm to 5pm (2 credit). The student must a have positive attitude, be able to multi-task and work independently, have excellent time management skills, have strong oral and written communication skills (English), take initiative, have good interpersonal and listening skills and be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook email. They need to be flexible and co-operative when changes in duties and responsibilities arise. The student must be available Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00 – 5:00 pm. The student must be able to focus during production, have a positive attitude, excellent time management skills, be able to work independently, have strong oral and written communication skills, take initiative, and take directions well. They need to be flexible and co-operative when changes in duties and responsibilities arise. Students MUST be available Monday to Friday from 12:30 – 10:00 pm. **We understand that Integration days are necessary, please schedule them on Fridays. While on studio production, Students will be participating on crew for the production of “Daytime” and other shows in the capacity of Audio Operator, Camera Operator, VTR (Video Tape Recorder) Operator, CG (Character Generator), and Floor Director. The only option for postproduction experience may be linear editing or dub requests but that will be decided based on production needs. The student must have a positive attitude, have excellent time management skills, be able to work independently, have strong oral and written communication skills, take initiative, and take directions well.
