Walnut Valley Unified School District Child Care Program School Year 2015-2016, August 17, 2015 through May 26, 2016 (Child Care is available Year Round) General Information The Walnut Valley Unified School District Child Care Program offers before and after school child care Monday – Friday, from 6:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. We offer on site child care at each one of the nine different elementary schools (Enrichment Program), two Middle Schools (South Pointe & Chaparral Teen Scene), and one Preschool (Walnut Valley Preschool Early Learning Center). All programs offer standardized care that may include the following optional activities depending on each site: A quiet place to do homework A daily snack Sports Cooking or Sewing Clubs Science Projects Nature Explorations Arts & Crafts Reading & Math Clubs Foreign Language Clubs Introduction to acting, singing, dancing, & music. We also have different options for care during winter, and spring break, and early out days. We are closed on all school holidays & staff development days. Our program is year round and also offers a Summer Program that runs typically from June – August. How to Enroll Enrollment packets for all facilities are available for pick up starting April 6, 2015 at the Child Care Office or may be downloaded from our website at www.wvusd.k12.ca.us. Enrollment is accepted on a first come, first served basis. All enrollments must be done in person, by a parent or a legal guardian at the Child Care Office. A non-refundable $35.00 enrollment fee for early bird registration and $50.00 enrollment fee for regular registration will secure a spot in our School Year Program and is due during our enrollment periods of April 6th to May 29th and June 1 to July 31, 2015. (The first month’s tuition will be due in August.) All enrollments received on or after August 1st, 2015 must include the non-refundable $50.00 enrollment fee plus the first month’s tuition. First time Enrollment for Funshine Preschool Early Learning Center must include all of the above plus the following additional Preschool Paper Work: 1) Signed WVUSD Physician Release Form 2) Original & Current Immunization Record including a negative TB Test given within one year of start date. 3) Completed WVUSD Enrollment Packet 4) Additional Miscellaneous Forms ALL Preschool enrollments must be approved by the Child Care Office. Walnut Valley Preschool Early Learning Center Walnut Valley Preschool Early Learning Center is designed for toddlers and children 2 – 6 years of age. We have a potty trained and not potty trained toddler component for 24 – 36 months. Once they are fully potty trained they can move into the preschool class. Walnut Valley Preschool provides unlimited opportunities for the development of the “Whole Child.” It provides an environment where children are encouraged to develop problem solving and self-help skills that will prepare them to enter kindergarten. This program has a curriculum which promotes numeracy, literacy, language, and a love of learning.
