Members can win the award once as a senior. ____MYRTLE LEISTIKOW AWARD Criteria: Must have been enrolled in the project for at least two years. Shows knowledge of Family & Consumer Science and its importance to communities in projects such as Child Development, Clothing, Food & Nutrition, Home Improvement, etc. ____ED HUCK CITIZENSHIP AWARD Criteria: Must have completed grade 9-12 at time of application. Must show project work in citizenship area and evidence of growth. Must complete project records and award application. Member can win award once as an intermediate. ____ED HUCK LEADERSHIP AWARD Criteria: Must have completed grade 9-12 at time of application. Must show project work in leadership area and evidence of growth through club participation or through county/community events.. Must complete project records and award application. Member can win award once as an intermediate. ____I DARE YOU LEADERSHIP AWARD Criteria: For 4-H’ers who have completed 10-12 grade and have been a 4-H member for two or more years. This award is to recognize individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, have personal integrity and excellent character; are leading balanced lives and making a positive difference in 4-H; and hold the promise of making the world a better place to live. (Leaders may also nominate) ____EXCELLENCE AWARD Criteria:Junior or Senior in High School. This award recognizes the 4-H’er who has kept excellent records, has participated in a wide variety of projects and activities at the local and county level, received several awards, and has shown excellence in character and personal development. (Leaders may also nominate) Senior Overall Awards Requirements: 1. Three or more years of Project Records in specified areas 2. Demonstrate leadership ability 3. May receive an award only once 4. For Leadership and Citizenship awards, member must be enrolled in the project area. 5. Make a brief summary of 4-H achievements for award area. Put name, club, years in project, and award applying for on the top, place inside front cover of Record Book. List 1st and 2nd choice for award. 6. You will be required to participate in a Bremer County 4-H Interview. Interviews will be conducted with 2-3 adult volunteers. You will be contacted about time for interview. Phone interviews for college students will be considered. ____Agriculture & Natural Resource - Shows knowledge in a variety of agriculture projects and respect for agriculture and its importance to communities. (includes crop, conservation, animals, entomology, forestry, horticulture, plant science, vet science, fish, wildlife) ____Science and Technology – Shows growth and knowledge of at least 3 of 8 of the following: aerospace, astrology, automotive, computer, small engine, tractor, welding, woodworking ____Personal Development – Shows growth and knowledge of at least 3 of 7 of the following: camping, citizenship, communication, health, leadership, music, safety. ____Expressive Art – Shows growth and knowledge in both Photography and Visual Art ____Family & Consumer Science - Shows knowledge of Family & Consumer Science and its importance to communities in projects such as Child Development, Clothing, Food & Nutrition, Home Improvement, etc. ____Citizenship - Demonstrates social responsibility and respect and responds to the needs of others. ____Leadership - Strengthens local 4-H unit and community in leadership responsibilities and encouragement of other youth. ____Achievement – Shows outstanding knowledge in a variety of 4-H projects; outstanding personal growth and citizenship; and has made contributions to improve family and community living.
