available.
Parents: All new StoneBridge parents in grades 6–12 will need to attend this very helpful meeting to discuss back-to-school issues
and plans for the upcoming year. We will take this opportunity to introduce members of the upper school leadership team, the
guidance counselor, and other faculty and staff.

6th-8th Ice Cream Social— All 6th - 8th grade students are invited to a fun time of fellowship and recreation at the upper school

Early Release Days / Faculty Seminars
Excellence in Principle Approach education requires a commitment to continued professional development since teachers are
“living textbooks.” Therefore, we have created blocks of time dedicated to professional development by allowing early release
days—throughout the year for afternoon faculty seminars. Grades 9-12 will have assigned Thursdays for early dismissal. Please
find the high school early dismissal schedule below. The high school will dismiss at 3:22 p.m. on all Thursday’s not listed
below.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Grades 6-8 will dismiss @ 12:23 p.m. on the dates listed below with the high school. On all other
Thursday’s, students in grades 6-8 will dismiss @ 12:00 noon.

Upper School Student Retreats: 6th-12th Grade (September 16-18, 2015)
The student and faculty retreat is designed to build and strengthen relationships among the body of believers at StoneBridge Upper
School. The retreat site in Rockbridge, VA is about five hours from StoneBridge. This vast Christian camp facility will allow for
distinct programs specially designed for each group of students and their respective mentors. Parent volunteers are key to the
success of the upper school retreats. We need servants to help with meal preparation, serving and dishwashing, wranglers to help
run the high ropes course, climbing tower, blob, zip line, and other activities, general supervision and night chaperones for 6th, 7th
and 8th graders, and other retreat events. If you would like to serve our students and faculty in this way, please contact Jim
Hunnewell @ 482-7413 (space is limited and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis).
*Student fees are included in the yearly Standard Fees; however, each adult volunteer is asked to pay $100. Please send in
all checks for adult chaperones by Friday, August 28, 2015 to Mrs. Walton in the upper school main office.
