WAWNE PRIMARY SCHOOL School Visitors Policy Introduction Wawne Primary School encourages visitors and sees the benefits which can result from engagement with parents and members of the local and wider community. The School recognises that the benefits of receiving visitors must be balanced with other considerations such as disruption to the academic day and the safety and welfare of pupils and staff. Our desire is to achieve this balance, leading to increased parental and community involvement and developing the school’s work and understanding of community cohesion. The Head teacher has the authority to determine which visits will be of benefit to the pupils, the staff and to the visitors. In order to do this the Head teacher will consider the purpose of the visit, the impact of the visit and the impact this may have on the organisation of the school. All visitors must adhere to guidance laid down by the school in order to ensure all Safeguarding and Health and Safety issues are addressed. All visitors will be welcomed, provided with clear guidance and information and assisted with any other requests. It is hoped that the guidance and support offered to visitors will help to foster long term, positive relationships between school, our parents and the wider community.
