Re: New Ophea Health and Physical Education Curriculum Resources: Grades 1-8
Congratulations! As a member of Toronto Catholic District School Board, you now have access
to the new Ophea Health and Physical Education (H&PE) Curriculum Resources: Grades 1-8.
These resources were developed by Ophea in partnership with school boards across Ontario,
and will support you in implementing The Ontario Curriculum, Revised Interim Health and
Physical Education, Grades 1-8 (2010).
The Ophea H&PE Resources are now available online to all subscribing boards! These
resources replace the ‘Ophea binders’, which were designed to reflect the 1998 H&PE
Curriculum. The new resources will support you in implementing the 2010 H&PE Curriculum
by providing approximately 130 lesson plans per grade in addition to student materials and
background information, addressing all of the expectations in the curriculum. The initial
launch of the resources occurred at the 2010 Ophea and PHE Canada National Conference,
and additional units will be added to the website in a phased approach from October through
January.
