WEDNESDAY PROGRAM
FALL 2013
Dear Parents,
Program Co-ordinator: Sarah Murray sarah.murray@utoronto.ca
August, 2013
The Wednesday Afternoon Program’s fall term begins Wednesday, September 11, 2013 and
ends Wednesday, December 18, 2013.
Please note that the Wed. Program does not operate on the first day of school.
The Wednesday Program is committed to providing programming for your children regardless of the
weather. If weather conditions make it impossible for your children to attend their regular classes, they
will be given a choice of 2 - 3 other classes. On such days, a school-wide email will go out, notifying
parents of cancellations. Also, you may phone Sarah Murray’s cell phone at 647 309 -1573 with any
questions. All children return to the Jackman ICS playground between 2:45 - 3:00.
For the first time, Baking and Cooking at La Dolci is available to 10 students in grades 4 - 6. If you’d
like to spend Wednesday afternoons making apple pie or ravioli, this is the class for you!
Another new class for grade 1 – 3 students is Bugs without Borders. Twelve lucky students will have
a chance to slide with an African snail, hiss with a coach roach, and snuggle with a giant millipede!
Tennis Classes at Toronto Tennis City are available to 16 students in grades 3 - 6. If you’re a tennis
lover or would like to learn to play, don’t miss this opportunity!
Just Bounce Trampoline Classes are back! This program is available to all students from grades
1 - 6. There are 22 spots but we always have a waiting list. Please return your forms quickly!
Clay Design will also return this term. This very popular program is available to students from grades
2 - 6. There are only 12 spots, so please return your registration forms promptly.
Drama with Sarah is back! Rehearse and perform a play with Sarah Murray and her troupe of
grade 4 – 6 actors. 12 spots are available in this program.
All students enrolled in the Wednesday Program eat lunch in their classrooms.
After lunch, they play in the playground under the supervision of two Jackman I.C.S. teachers. Students
leave the playground from 12:30 - 1:00 for their activities and return for pick-up between 2:30 and 3:00.
