Academic Achievement At Citadel High School students are recognized for their academic achievement. Students in grade 12 celebrate their success in June during the graduation ceremony. In October of each year, there is an award ceremony for students who were in grades 10 and 11 from the previous year. Students receive a certificate depending on their average: 90 – 100% Honours with Distinction 80 – 89.999% Honours 75 – 79.999 Academic Merit Grade 10 Grade 11 Grade 12 - - - - Top 7 marks are used No failing grades - Top 6 marks are used No failing grades - Top 6 marks are used No failing grades 5 credits must be at the grade 12 level The Top Average Award is awarded to the students in grade 10 and 11 who has the highest cumulative average in all their courses for the year for the Academic program, the IB program, the Options and Opportunities program and the French Immersion program. The Perfect Attendance Award is presented to any student with perfect attendance. Teacher Recognition Award is awarded to students in grade 10 and 11 to recognize their exemplary effort and contributions to the school throughout the year. The CHS Award is in recognition of a student who has demonstrated academic excellence while performing at a National or International level in Athletics or the Arts. The Lieutenant Governor’s Medal Grade 11 may be awarded to one female and one male student in grade 11 who have demonstrated qualities of leadership and service in the school and community and who have commendable academic performance.
