Introduction • Sometimes we are faced with a decision of where we put our trust. • Putting your trust in anything other than God is like putting your money in a purse with a big hole in it. • What little you do have, will disappear and be lost from you. Things We Trust In That Prove Empty • People put their trust in something foreign to scripture. • People put their trust in a name God has not authorized. • People put their trust in a governing body that God did not set up. Things We Trust In That Prove Empty • People put their trust in themselves. • Just like the people of old who trusted in other nations, other gods, other material things— • Their trust turned out to be empty, because they did not trust in God. • God is our trust . • Psalm 118:8 “It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man”.
