My research activity mostly concerns the response mechanisms of plants to abiotic stressors. In detail I
study the role of secondary metabolites in countering photo-oxidative stress in plants challenged against
multiple stress agents. My background mostly regards the functional roles of polyphenols, particularly
flavonoids as antioxidants and signaling molecules. More recently, I also started study the role of volatile
and non-volatile isoprenoids as protective agents against oxidative stress.
