In-Progress 1Q 2015 In-Progress 1Q 2015 • Hicksville Station is supported on a viaduct structure and consists HICKSVILLE STATION RENOVATION HICKSVILLE NORTH SIDING of two 14-car elevated center platforms, with a ticket office at street level. • Removal and replacement of the elevated platforms, replacement of the concrete stairways, replace two hydraulic passenger elevators and escalators, replace the platform waiting rooms and canopies, signage and canopy drainage. • The new north track siding shall be constructed west of the Hicksville Station between station track #1 and the existing north track siding. • Approximately 3,300 feet of new track will be installed including associated signals, switches and third rail power to connect the existing north track siding in Hicksville with station track #1.T • Major work elements will include new electrified track, new retaining walls, 3 track turnouts, utility relocations, and improved drainage. The Design-Build portion will be the initial civilstructural work. Construction of a second track between Farmingdale and Central Islip includes: a new station at Pinelawn, new south platform at Wyandanch, retaining walls, earthwork, underground utilities, fencing and track bed preparation. Lay-up and repair positions for 4-Locomotives, one inspection pit, two overhead cranes, drop table and storage area. Jamaica Capacity Improvements – Phase 2 Design and Construction of the modifications for the E-Yard extension. Early Civil and Structural work 11 DESIGN-BUILD PROJECTS 2015-2019 (Proposed) Bridge Rehabilitation SPRINGFIELD BLVD BRIDGE UNION TURNPIKE BRIDGE • Rehabilitation of the Springfield Blvd Bridge on the Mainline in Queens Village, to bring the bridge to a state of good repair. •Elements of construction will include repairs to the girders, diaphragms and stiffeners, Also included on repairs to the deck and underdeck. ANTICIPATED SOLICITATION Preliminary Design Design Build Const In-Progress 1Q 2016 • Replacement of bearings on the Union Turnpike Bridge on the Montauk Branch, Queens County. Except for the bearings the bridge was upgraded to a state of good repair in 2009. This work will complete the effort. In-Progress 1Q 2016 •Elements of construction will include replacement of bearings, repair to backwalls to mitigate water infiltration, and repair damaged web girder stiffeners. Also included are deck waterproofing, drainage improvements as well as 12 local overpainting. MTA Long Island Rail Road DESIGN-BUILD PROJECTS 2015-2019 (Proposed) Bridge Replacements POST AVENUE BRIDGE BUCKRAM ROAD BRIDGE ANTICIPATED SOLICITATION Design Preliminary Build Design Const •Construction of a new Post Avenue Bridge, located in Westbury, Nassau County. • Elements of construction will include the replacement of In-Progress 1Q 2016 the two bay structure with a three bay structure, installation of new catwalks with railings. In addition the abutments, wingwalls, and other structures necessary to support the new three bay bridge will be rehabilitated. •Construction of a new Buckram Road Bridge, located in Locust Valley, Nassau County on the Oyster Bay Branch. • Elements of construction will include the replacement of the three span structure. Also being investigated and In-Progress 1Q 2016 designed is a new roadway alignment which will address substandard features including: hazardous vehicle line of sight angles, vertical under clearance, lane width and pedestrian accessibility as well as track alignment on the new bridge structure.
