RATIONALE
In light of the fast, remarkable trend towards growth of Respiratory Medicine
over the last ten years –which, by the way, will last at least a couple of decades
more according to statistics- the Congress’ scientific program will tackle all the
major topical subjects pertaining to this medical field.
Special focus will be given to the most widely debated, still controversial topics
so as to contribute to identifying their scientific and political/organizational value
as effectively as possible.
The scientific program is structured around plenary sessions that will delve into
the main topics pertaining to respiratory medicine; lectures from nationally and
internationally renowned speakers will characterize the state of the art for each
topic on the agenda, thus further broadening the Congress’ scope though an
accurate review of the relevant existing literature.
As in previous editions, six-hours refresh courses for doctors and paramedics
will open the Congress; the training sessions will delve into topics of great clinical
interest dealt with using a strongly interactive approach.
Moreover, a panel of USA experts belonging to CHEST from CHEST’s various
committees and study groups, will host a session that is entirely devoted to
exchanging and discussing experiences with topics of high scientific value.
Lastly, in line with the tradition of any CHEST Congress, young researchers will
be given centre-stage to present their projects’ results and participate in the
CHEST 2015 prizes awarding ceremonies.
