CONSTANT CONTACT WORKSHOP Constant Contact Evangelism and Discipleship…Winning Them and Keeping Them Dr. Michael S. Bell Definition Definition: What is constant and what is meant by contact? Constant: A regular, perpetual, continuous, and faithful commitment to keep in touch with sinners, one’s membership; new members, as well as, long time members. For some members it might be weekly, for others it is bi-weekly or monthly. Contact: The touching of sinners, your membership with contagious enthusiasm, with an expression of care, concern and compassionate relationship. A value system that says, you are important to our fellowship and you are an integral part of our mutation of the love of God. This is done by the membership participating in weekly church activities, phone calls, birthdays and anniversaries. I miss you cards, enjoy your vacation cards, thinking of you cards and you are special cards by using technology and the human touch. Seven R’s of Constant Contact 1. Relinquish (Romans 10:9-10) 2. Gossipers The Mappers: These are the people with the plans to get the church on a solid foundation, but they’re not going to follow their own plans. The Clappers: They love to applaud others, give out commendations and praise to hard working members, but they are not going to work themselves. The Trappers: These members are not going to work and seek to keep others from working as well. The Hoppers: When they do not like what is being done they hop home or hop to another church. We truly love you and desire to establish a relationship with you. We are not asking you for anything we just want to be your friend. We desire to share with you love and kindness. We are so sorry for not being there and we commit to never let this happen again. We will be coming to see you and find out from you what we can do to start this life long relationship of constant contact. Your Servant, Your Church’s Name Make A Commitment To Do Constant Contact Commitment Sheet: Whenever we get our membership involved with constant contact we will see a greater interest in other ministries of the Church. Members who commit his or her self to reaching the lost take on a great Christian participatory act. It is an action that is passionate and perpetual. If every member of the local Church would do the following commitment sheet and live up to it, I believe that our Church would be achieving the great commission. Box 2292, Wilson, NC 27894 Email: Mbell81353@gmail.com Romans 10: 9-10 NIV 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Matthew 28: 18-20 NIV 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 16: 26 NIV 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 2 Timothy 3: 2-5 NIV 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. Matthew 25: 35-36 NIV 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Psalms 20:7 7 Some NIV trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. Psalms 37:3 3 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Psalms 56:4 4 In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Proverbs 3: 5-6 NIV 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. 1 Corinthians 4:2 2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. Matthew 5:14 14 “You NIV are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 2 Peter 1: 5-10 5 NIV For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. 10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, 1 Corinthians 1: 12-20 NIV 12 What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.” 13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 so no one can say that you were baptized in my name 16 (Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.) 1 Corinthians 1: 12-20 NIV 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.” 20 Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? Matthew 28: 19 19 Therefore NIV go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Proverbs 15:13,15,30 13 A NIV happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit. 15 All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast. 30 Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones. Proverbs 17:22 22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. 2Cor 9:7 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Psalms 45:15 15 Led NIV in with joy and gladness, they enter the palace of the king. Luke 15: 7 7I NIV tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
