The destruction…the thrill….here comes the much awaited, the ultimate
battleground for our Robotic Gladiators as they fight in this bloodbath indulging
themselves into ripping off every nut and bolt of the rival and breaking it to
pieces. This CIENCIA we present our very own Robot-Wars in a fresh new
avatar…..paving the way for an era of “renaissance”.
The task is to design and construct a remote controlled robot
capable of fighting a one-on-one tournament. The combat robot must have easily
visible and controlled mobility, operating via methods power electrically only
with entire pneumatic and hydraulic setup on-board i.e. no external input from
outside the arena. The bots will compete in a knockout tournament, the winner
of each round moving further in the competition.
1. Competitors must follow rules and regulations given by the event organisers.
2. Special care should be taken to protect the on-board batteries and pneumatics, robot without
proper protection will not be allowed to compete.
3. If you have a robot or weapon design that does not fit within the categories set forth in these
rules or is in some way ambiguous or borderline, please contact the event organizers. Safe
innovation is always encouraged, but surprising the organizers with your brilliant exploitation
of a loophole may cause your robot to be disqualified before it even competes.
4. Each event has safety inspections. It is at their sole discretion that your robot is allowed to
compete. As a builder you are obligated to disclose all operating principles and potential
dangers to the inspection staff.
5. Proper activation and deactivation of robots is critical. Robots must only be activated in the
arena, testing areas, or with expressed consent of the event coordinators.
6. All weapons must have a safety cover on any sharp edges.
7. All participants build and operate robots at their own risk. Combat robotics is inherently
dangerous. There is no amount of regulation that can encompass all the dangers involved.
Please take care to not hurt yourself or others when building, testing and competing.
8. Any kind of activity (repairing, battery handling, pneumatics systems etc.) which may damage
environment should be done with the consent of organisers, otherwise it will be disqualified
9. All the resources provided at the time of competition from the organizers should be strictly used
only after the consent of the organizers.
10. BEFORE THE WAR, THE BOT SHOULD BE ACCEPTED BY THE ORGANISERS
1. Bots must be wired and must be < 10kgs.
2. The care should be taken by themselves in case of entangling.
3. The power supply should be less than 15volts.
4. BOT DIMENSIONS: 40cm x 40cm x 60cm
5. THE BOTS can be Rolling or Walking type
6. Weight of external power source will not be counted
7. The pneumatic device used should not be less than 5bar.
8. Any type of weapons can be used except non inflammable
1. ARENA will be rectangular area of 3.5m X 3m
2. A rectangular area of 60cm X 60cm at two opposite corners of the arena will be
starting zone for the BOT, at the same time.
3. The arena will be made of wood and at the height of 20cm covered with mud.
1. A robot is declared winner when opponent is IMMOBILIZED ( A Bot does not move even 1
inch for 30sec or trapped by the arena). If some part of bot is moving, it does not considered
as immobilized
2. If the bot is thrown the other bot out of the arena, then winner will be the Bot which on the
arena
3. If both the bots are on the arena after the war, the winning will be based on subjective
points which depends on following factors:
1. DAMAGE OF THE BOT: The bot get damaged during the war. Damage of the bot
also takes consideration.
2. AGGRESSION: During war, the bot hits the opponent with bold, effectiveness,
severity and no of times also takes consideration.
A ROBOT IS NOT DECLARED AS WINNER:
1.By Holding OR Lifting the opponents. It can allow holding or lifting for 15sec, after that
organisers will instruct to release. Even though if it do so, he will be disqualified.
2. If any reasonable entangling of bots happens, war should be pause and cleared the bots
and can be resumed.
PROMOTING THE ROBOT TO THE NEXT ROUND IS DONE BY THE DECISION OF THE JUDGES BASED ON THE
SUBJECTIVE RULES. ENTRY TO THE NEXT ROUND DEPEPNDS ON TOP POSITION BOTS.
This is of two rounds of game. The winner of the first round based on the rules will be
moved to second round
ROUND-1:
This is a 10-min game. Winning is based on the rules given.
3.5m
60cm

ROUND – 2 WILL BE ANNOUNCED
ON THE DAY OF WAR….
GET READY….
Round-2:
This is of 15-minute Game. This winning is based on the rules given. Scoring in this ARENA shown below:
Each BOT is provided with Two Blocks. The BOT-1 should try and make the BOT-2 to touch BOT-2’s blocks
and vice-versa. Each hit is rewarded subjective points which is given in the rules.
And for both BOTS, a common HOLE will be there in circular shape. If the BOT-1 is thrown into the hole by the BOT-2,
The BOT-2 will be win if the BOT-1 does not comes out within 10sec. If it comes out, again the game will be resumed.
