Instructions:
All examples are set up across from their number property. Keep one set intact as
answer key.
Answer to final slide:
Step 1: Commutative Property of Addition
Step 2: Additive Inverse Property
Step 3: Addition Property of Zero
Additional Instructions:
1. Print slides 2-4 for the number of students you have.
2. If you are using without the journal, laminate the sheets at this time.
3. Use paper cutter to cut properties and their examples.
4. Create a complete set of properties and their answers for each student. Make sure
to shuffle from their original order.
5. If you are not making the journal, the students can now use the cards to match.
6. If you are making a journal entry, instruct students on the order you’d like the
properties glued down.
7. Next, have students determine which example goes with each property. I made sure
students knew not to glue until I had checked their answers!
