Educational background
My educational and research background is very broad spanning over the Arts, Social and
Natural Sciences. Most of my publications so far lie in the intersection between Historical
Ecology, Environmental History, Long term Ecology, Ecological Theory and links with applied
conservation and most recently development theory and social studies (Ekblom 2012, ongoing
project). Geographically my main research focus has been on southern Africa, but I have also
supervised theses from Cameroon, Sweden. I have also worked in Sweden with Environmental
History and filed archaeology for many years.
